Something growing on macro algae

Like the title says, I got some codium macro algae in and there's this pink-brown branching stuff growing on it. It looks like another type of algae maybe but what kind? It's rooted fairly firmly and I couldn't pull it off without breaking the codium.

Here's another pic. I think it looks like bryopsis but I couldn't find pictures of red bryopsis. If so maybe I should cut it off or toss this piece of macro?
