Ready to move my purple tang into display. Has had this spot for about 24 hours. It doesn’t quite look like ick to me, but I’m not sure, I think it may just be a minor injury. No behavioral signs, no other marks, nothing on the other fish. Anybody feel like they can tell? Sorry for the picture quality, he is definitely skittish. (Only the circled area is a spot, any other markings are on the glass)

Doesn't look like anything to me. Is the tang in QT with anything else? How long in QT?

Doesn't look like anything to me. Is the tang in QT with anything else? How long in QT?

Two weeks. Yes, clownfish, neon gobies, a jawfish, and some bangii. Second dose of prazi last night, I came home from work to find the yellow tang I had in there for 6 weeks dead and same with a blue neon goby. It looked immaculate, even in death. I think the prazi killed both. Other fish had a little rapid breathing, but I added more aeration and seems to have (mostly) fixed that. I’m debating scrapping the QT and going to the display tonight because I know it will be less stressful/have no meds/ and better conditions (space, flow, and so forth)....

Wasn’t the plan, but I’m not happy about the two dying... so my choices are a massive water change in the qt (stressful) or a move all to the DD (which is new, fallow, and cycled).

I see early signs of HLLE.
https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/hlle-head-lateral-line-erosion.259916/

I do see the spot you are talking about. Possible ich. With no other symptoms or spots on any other fish, and only one spot, I'm not sold on ich. I would observe and keep an eye on it. If it goes away in the next 24 hours it is probably not Ich. If it hangs around longer, it is possible. Or if you begin to see additional spots develop then keep us updated.

Prazi typically wont kill fish, it will in fact deplete the oxygen from the water if heavy aeration is not present. That could be what happened as you mentioned.

That’s probably what did it... Dam... I’ll watch it. Hopefully the HLLE will be arrested with good nutrition.

Adding supplements to high quality foods will help a lot. Selcon, Vita chem, and especially Zoecon for HLLE
