Many times scorps can fight off injuries and mild infections on their own without intervention. Here's the caveat, water quality must be near perfect and optimally they would get a live diet, primarily fish. Guppies or appropriately sized mollies, gut loaded ghost shrimp with a high vitamin c food could also be included. If you are feeding dead foods, stuff with high vitamin c pellets, Hikari makes a good one. Dead foods must include a fatty fish like salmon and be low in thiaminese, so no krill.

I mostly feed frozen human grade shrimp. Due to geographical location live food is hard to obtain, but I will absolutely feed live when I can. I can see what our local Walmart has as far as dead options.

Can you post an updated picture of the scorpionfish's eyes?

I've heard conflicting reports as to is Peneaus shrimp contain thiaminase or not. I tend to think they do. This enzyme breaks down vitamin B1, causing deficiencies. This is unrelated to the eye issues, but you should vary the diet with food items known NOT to be high in thiaminase, or supplement the diets with B1 and E.

Eye’s might have slightly improved. As far as frozen shrimp are concerned, living in the gulf coast region I do have the ability to buy wild caught brown or white gulf shrimp, would that be any better than the standard farmed shrimp sold?

A healthy diet is necessary to a robust immune system needed recover, any nutritional deficiencies will defeat this purpose. Vitamin C is paramount so at least stuff the food with a high vitamin c pellet. All shrimp will contain thiaminese, but they also contain vit B1; the fresher the better, old frozen shrimp will have depleted levels of vitamin B1 along with all other nutrients. Without a healthy diet recovery will be greatly compromised.

The right eye does look better, as long as he is eating and the water quality is good, he has a chance. Your source of shrimp is good, try and include a fatty fish like salmon, wild with skin on. Saki-Hikari Marine Carnivore pelleted food contains 3100mg of vit C and can be stuffed into the chunks of food.

The right eye does look better and the left eye, although nasty looking, may still be able to heal (but will take time).
