Well like the post says sps colonies as big as cars .. ok so I'm on vacation for a month in the Pacific islands (Palau). My wife has family here so here we are,the awsome part is the family is big and do guides services . But since I'm family they just take me out with them and teach me to free dive. And give me private tours of areas . Since they are locals they know we're all the cool stuff is . And I just can't help but to just smile I have seen so many reef fish triggers tangs also snorkels rt above the stone fish today pretty awsome we tried to snorkel over to a black fin shark today ... yeah chasing a shark with snorkel and goggles!!!

There are so many gobies here to its awsome I get to observe them in the wild ... and bangai cardinals are everywhere the word they call them in palau means poop eaters!!lol over 1400 species of fish and over 700 species of corals here in palau .last pic here is me in the milky way zero visibility as far as snorkeling so just dived and swim and enjoyed life!

Palau really interests me. I'd love to go there and kayak between the islands, as well as try diving.

Very cool, have fun, these memories are priceless. Be careful learning to dive, they usually don't take you deeper than 40 feet. I know it's tempting, but learn to dive here in the US, Padi dive courses would be the way to go. I've been a Open water certified Padi diver for 40 yrs. I've made dives on wrecks to 180 feet, but don't recommend them. There's more to see in 20-40 feet. Stop and watch. Next, do a night dive. Everything comes out at night, but it's darker than pitch black. Always carry a second light, never panic, move slow, and enjoy the ride. I always knew I should have married a Island girl!

Went to palau aquariums with my family today.hand fed a turtle and talked about coral bleaching and stuff they are trying currently ... there predicting around sept there well be another big bleach out on corals this country is experiencing some global warming impacts. Sucks cause these ppl survive off fish if the reefs die they loose out on main sources of food for them . They have lots of sanctuary areas for coral protection but how does a person stop the suns heat hot Temps kill the corals ..
