Just getting started. All 2x4 construction, except for the upper rails, which are 2x6’s. Assembled with pocket screws with all joints glued.

I’m going trim out the front in 1”x6” poplar and skin the sides and back in either 1/2” or 3/4” cabinet grade plywood. I haven’t made a decision on that yet. I think 3/4” is really overkill. The doors will also be made out of poplar and plywood.

Loving it....looks great. It's my exact RocketEngineer five foot stand with the exception that I used conventional screws.

1/2” is plenty. Even thinner is fine too but 1/2 is nicer to work with.

Now I’m getting somewhere. Need to order the doors. I was going to take a shot at building them myself, but I’m finding that I’m not a great finish carpenter

Looks good so far. I am in the process of building very similar stand for my 5 footer as well. I will most likely skip out on doors, and will have removable panels. Cheaper and easier to do than doors, and should look same in the end. Just an idea for you to possibly look into.

Looking good man, nice choice on the color too I like it. My final coat of Poly is drying on the skin panels for mine then I have to sort out some baseboard trim. My tank is just sitting in the garage so hopefully soon.

Very nice job. It looks a lot like the one I built for my 100g. I'm getting closer and closer to buying a 150. I want more from for more tangs!
