Hello everyone. I have not been active for sometime now due to work and life. Being on the frontline was stressful that I neglected my tank for almost a year now. Lost majority of my sps collection and only was able to save a few mini colonies.
But here I am again back in the sps game. To start my recently acquired frags and hoping to grow them all into colonies soon.
And here we go….

And I have at least 30 more frags on the way just waiting for the holiday shipping rush to pass. Hopefully I will be able to update with pictures every month from here on.
Thanks for looking and happy reefing!!!

My holiday pray for you:
"May your parameters remain steady,
growing corals happy and bright
May the Lord bless your tank with massive colonies
That you must frag and share with me
Your best buddy,
Kris Reef
Amen"

Christmas Vacation GIF
I'll be waiting to see these flourishing, those are some very nice starter frags for a beautiful reefing garden.

I am surprised they didn't brush the algae off the plugs at the base of the frags before snapping the photos. You will need to do that yourself now. Nice collection and wish you happy and healthy corals.

I don’t mind the algae at all. I never had any problems with algae in my tank. At least I know these were not fresh cuts. As for brushing them off? I’ll leave that job to my tangs so they have something to graze on.

I cannot imagine running a tank without a bunch of bristletooths.

True that. My bristle tooth and powder blue graze the tank non stop to control algae growth. Gem tang not so much of a grazer for me. In the stage of redoing aquascape to an NSA tank.

Awesome starting point and great variety of frags! Last time I lost interest and came back like you did my tank was stable (mature) as could be from me leaving it alone and not messing with it for so long. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: Hopefully that's the case for you also! Looking forward to the updates and hopefully some frags in the future if they grow into colonies!

And so it begins. I am not an artistic person but I am trying my best. Looking okay so far.
Will be replacing all rock works as soon as i finish the new aquascape.

I don't want to say this, but when you switch that rock, you're going to have a lot of dead SPS frags unless you do it right.

You'll need to monitor your Nitrate daily and dose to keep it at 10 to 15. Phosphate should take care of itself if you're feeding Coral.

I don't think those Dinos were on the frags you bought, I think they're in your tank. Marco rock causes Dinos 100% because it depletes Nitrates to 0.

Again, just hoping to save you some headaches and a lot of lost money. Check your Nitrate daily and don't let it fall below at least 10 for about 3 months after you replace that rock. If you have any of that rock in there now, then you'll want to go ahead and start checking and dosing Nitrate.

Thanks for the heads up. The marco rocks will be cycled before replacing the rock works and will be done in sections. As for the dinos, it may have came in as a hitch hiker for I just finished nuking the whole tank with the kfc whole tank treatment. And as for nitrates, I do test nitrates 3x a week and maintain it at 10.5ppm while dosing 25ml sodium nitrate to keep it at that level.

My only issue now is debating if I maintain to be bare bottom or put on sand. I am still undecided on that part. Aesthetically I prefer with sand but vacuuming bare bottom of detritus is a no brainer. Hhhhhhmmmm dilema. Suggestion?
