Had some extra rock and built this. Thinking of swapping out my 50G structure for this.

It's much lower and way more room for fish hiding and coral placement.

I am thinking of breaking down the very well established rock and putting it in the chambers, since I used it all on the drop off to kick start a cycle.

I really like what you did there chef. Mixing the CaribSea branch and the Stax really came out great.

Update after swapping out the aquascape and building out the cabinet.

I cycled the new rock scape for about 2 months, swapped it out, lost a lot of Corals, not to any spikes, but they were so encrusted that I couldn't get them off. Basically starting over with the frags.
Fish now have more sleeping quarters, corals more room and better light spread.

Made a sand barrier to keep the sand back, while letting the zoas grow on glass in front.

Drop off is doing good, going through the algae blooms. Stable. Moved all the LPS over. Going to be a euphyllia dominated.

Put a little refugium on the back of the drop off, but going to swap it out for the new Tunze algae reactor. Doing a little comparison between the Tunze and Arid. Ill definitely make a thread for that when it arrives.

Going to put a nuvo 10 in that empty space in the stand and setup a macro algae nano, maybe sexy shrimps.
Had a waterbox in there, but it cracked.

Need to start filling these up with corals now.

New toy for the drop off.

Great build quality. This should be easier maintenance than my Arid. I just don't like the 3/4" hoses. Will stop by hardware store and hard plumb some of it.

Nice, I've been interested in a MAR for a while.

Have you set it up yet? Also, what made you choose the tunze MAR as opposed to Skimz or others?

Set up and running next to my Arid. (Separate tanks).
I chose it based on I have 3AIO tanks, no sumps.

I wanted to do a comparison on all levels to the Arid.

Very cool! Keep us updated on how well it works.

My sump isn't suited for a fuge area so this would be something for me to consider down the road.

Any updates on the Tunze Reactor?

Yes, I actually took my Arid off line and swapped it out for the Tunze. I personally found the maintenance to be much simpler, I believe the rotation of the chaeto aides in it not get "clogged" up with algae as fast. The growth was about the same from the two, so it came down to the ease.

I am re-plumbing it to hard PVC this weekend, Ill get some photos.
