Spider Sombrero GIF

That's actually pretty slick Steve ;)
20 bucks is all it cost. 4 of those rod holders and some scrap PVC pipe. It also has room for 2 more rods at the ends. That is why those pins are there. I took some extra pipe and a 45, cut the pipe to be a rod holder and then can pin them into the ends of the Tees if I want. It just sits inside my 2 rod holders in the rails. Super simple and will look better when painted. Wanted to make sure it worked well before painting.

For externals, I would go modular marine or fiji cube and I always go larger than needed. Can always adjust gate valves. I like more area to skim the surface. Even if small 600-800 would work, I would step up to 1800-2k if it fit in the tank. My nieces 40b I setup for her uses a Fiji cube 1200 lol. The gate valve is cranked to almost closed, but skims the surface like a pro. It all softies in the tank, so flow isn’t much, but better to skim more than less. Even in her tank with an overflow that is 12” long and 4.5 or so tall, it doesn’t take up any actual real estate.

Caught a ton, didn’t keep any and only took one pic. Decided phone was better off in dry box, as was quite windy lol.

Diy spider rig for a yak lol.

It really looks like you should have a slightly larger floating apparatus. What if all 4 get hit at the same time? What direction will you end up going?

Hardest pull gets hookset first, then move down the line. Drag stays slightly looser than it should be. Spent a few hours out yesterday and caught 11 crappie, 5 big bluegill and 36 yellow bass. Numerous 3-4 fish on at a time when I went over schools. Yellow bass will be used for cut bait, excluding the larger ones.

fishing may be garbage because of the hurricane
I am on the other coast. We went yesterday to catch bait. Got dad out on the smaller Hobie and he had a blast.

Little update since I haven’t made any.

180 is doing good, biocube is doing good. 500 is empty and all contents made the trip to dads with no issues. It is all in the 538 sump lol.

Sucks not having over 100 nems now, but lots going on and don’t have time or energy to deal with that many tanks.

either way, the OG 180 is still up and actually doing great. About time to trim some stuff. Luckily, this tank is autopilot. Just dose and make water for AWC. Well, feed the fish also. That’s super easy. Just drop cubes into the pipe behind the tank, it goes down to return pump chamber and then the return shoots out food once thawed. Super easy lol.

And a morning pic of the 180.
