would you provide a bit more information about what exactly are in these products? While I appreciate some specific details are necessary trade secrets, I am not a fan of dumping unknown solutions in my aquarium.

Thanks for understanding that some information is proprietary and part of our company's "trade secrets".

What we can tell you though is that these products are based on the principle that many bacteria do not cope well with rapid changes to their environmental conditions. Most bacteria are intolerant to rapid temperature, pH and nutrient change. Both RTN-X and STN-X create a rapid shift in the environmental conditions around the coral to shock and heavily reduce the bacterial population.
With the "in tank" intensive bath we briefly create a highly concentrated solution around the coral allowing the active the ingredients to be in contact with the affected area.

ICP testing may show elevated levels of Iodine, Manganese, Zinc and Boron after use of these products. A minor affect to pH and Alkalinity is also possible. When used in conjuntion with N-DOC testing the N : C : P ratio may be altered.

As already stated above products do not contain any antibiotics or aggressive heavy metals.

Does this mean you guys have identified the specific bacteria(s) that cause tissue necrosis?

No, that is not that easy. As stated above we have a more generic approach to reducing the amount of all bacteria on the surface of the affected coral.

What do you mean shock? If it's not killed by the solutions, does this mean it's only a temporary relief for the stn/rtn-ing coral while the solution is dumped on the coral, but goes away as soon as you turn on the flow in your tank again?

The solution is actually killing bacteria during the bath but is then reduced in concentration once the circulation pumps resume normal operation. Still it is unlikley that "all" bacteria are killed during the bath meaning that the population could recover if conditions allow over time. This gives the aquarist more time to address the fundamental issues that caused the inital RTN or STN. This time is more valuable in cases of RTN.

Is this the same effect that KZ's flatworm stop product has on acropora in that it encourages acropora to have more slime coating and therefore becomes a bit more "resistant" to irritants?

No, these products are based on the principle that many bacteria do not cope well with rapid changes to their environmental conditions.

Pretty big claim to be making, and it isn't the first time such a claim has been made on R2R by a vendor. Is there any proof to back these claims up?

Yes, we know that many companies in this industry make false claims in order to sell their products which is something that we do not condone. This was actually one of the reasons why Ehsan founded the company and has made sure that TRITON has never operated in this way.
We have made some incredible claims over the years such as...
TRITON was the first to claim that we could measure trace elements with ICP-OES for the hobby.
TRITON was the first Method to claim that no water change was needed and explain why in a scientific way.
TRITON was the first to claim the benefits of single element dosing for the reef aquarium.
TRITON was the first to claim that the nutrient ratio (N : C : P ) was more important than single nutrient measurements (eg. measuring Nitrate).
Fortunately over the last decade these claims have all proven to be true.
We always explain to our customers in a logical way how our products work while most can understand that some details must remain proprietary as many other companies out there are quick to copy.
We also proved the effectiveness of all our products in a practical way, unlike other vendors, by using them on our company aquarium which was open for public viewing for nearly a decade.

The way that TRITON has operated since 2008 is the reason for the trust that people put in our brand and the reason why our claims are always taken seriously. In our opinion there is not much more a vendor can do to prove and explain the value of their products and we do more in that sense than any other company in this industry.

So is this product available in the states? I found out today that one of my small colony is receding on the bottom. Should I dip it with coral dip?

Are there any photos of infected corals and how these products stopped the RTN/STN and show the recovery of the infected coral?

Can I get this in the US and if so where I could have used this over the weekend as I had RTN on my beautiful Disney coral that is now gone

Whats the dosage amount for in tank treatment?
In tank treatment relies upon results from N-DOC Lab testing. With these results you can use the calculator on our website:

More than just hot air: Is there a Pufferfish in your aquarium?
