Hello all and welcome to my build thread . I currently have a 120 gallon mixed reef tank with a 40 gallon sump/ refugium. We run 4 kinds of grasses in our refuge chaeto, red and green ogo, and red pom pom. A reef octopus 150 skimmer, uv and a phosban reactor. We have always hand dosed and hand tested all of our parameters.

We have tests for the other things but haven't had to use them with this system in several years. Here is our tank

We ordered our new tank 2 weeks ago today so it may be a while before we get it. I ordered the whole extras pack with the Nyos 220 skimmer and all the goodies besides the in tank fans. We already have 1 gyre and we love it so we will be grabbing 1 more of those for this new build but honestly this 1 gyre is only on 30% and it moves this tank plenty. We may not need another gyre ? We will soon see. My tank in the above pics will be for sale with everything when we get the new tank. Lights, stand, refuge, pumps , skimmer , everything for around 2 grand. We have ALOT more in the tank then that. I am sure if you are looking then you know that.

Corals arrived from TRSC aquatics and Nemos Reef. First 4 pics are TRSC packaging. Last pic is the corals from nemos reef after getting them out of 2 bags of water that soaked the box they drilled holes in the top of the coral containers so they filled bags of water and placed the frags in these plastic comtainers. Messy but effective I suppose? The corals are all in decent temps . Stay tuned. More pics tonight.

TRSC almost always sends a freebie of some sort. Nemos reef did not but it is rare to get customer service like TRSC . There was not a thing wrong with Nemos delivery , just nothing free which again is not expected

Same here waterbox with all the suggest goodies. All goodies fit perfectly and matched for the tank size. I literally had the tank up with all the goodies in a few hours—with only one trip to the hardware store—the return pump in order to hook it up to the return line you will either need to buy the attachment or make one yourself

Lol the return pump was the last thing I set up and the hardware store was already closed so had to wait until the morning. I have the s2 so this would be the part needed to hook up the pump to the waterbox return line. I was impatient and did not want to wait until the part arrived so bought a few pieces at the hardware store

Found today that our Coral Beauty is starting to eat some of my Acans. Slowly picking them apart. Not cool but we are swapping tanks soon and he is gone ! We also have an Atlantic Blue tang that we bought at a LFS and was promised he would be a great fish for our 120 gallon tank. After doing some research I have found that was a Complete lie and atlantic blue tangs not only get extremely big but are very mean and territorial once they become adults, so needless to say the lfs will be getting a couple of really nice fish for free here real soon . The new torches have been really skittish and not really been opening like I had hoped after 3 days in the tank. I think it is my excitement about the 24k torch that is keeping them hiding lol. I will post pics whenever they open ??
