Strange white furr

Ive noticed this strange white furr all over rock and attaches to the bottom of sps corals.. i blow it away and it floats around in the tank like when you feed live foods..is this a good thing bad thing? Ive been dosing silicates and since doing that its happened

That looks like sponges to me

It might be Chrysophytes, a Silicate based algae.

Appears to be a Clathrina type sponge, known as Leather Latticework Sponge. They are filter feeding that takes in dissolved organic matter and does not require any special feeding and does Not like bright light.

Makes sense... as ive only noticed them after i dosed silicates... will they be ok next to corals?
They can and will trail onto neighboring rock

yes ive noticed them spreading over rocks... will they be a bother or are they good for your tank?

Dont think that's a sponge and I think its what I have been battling. Its like a hair algae but white to clear. Yes?

Its just white Fur.. i blow it off the rocks and it comes back.. ive noticed it growing on my return pump where there is no light
