Other than the black tang they are still pretty small, once they all grow they will definitely contribute to higher nitrate levels. Have you also compared your nitrate readings with another tester?

How old is the build? Could the rock and substrate be sucking it up?

I haven't I used to use Salifert & Red Sea years ago but I've pretty much stuck to hanna..maybe I need to try another test you think..but man my glass is squeaky clean for DAY'S. I just dumped another 50 ml PO4 & NO3 & it'll probably give me a reading now & be back to almost ZERO tomorrow...

It took me two weeks to get my levels up and I dosed NeoPhos and NeoNitro. My tanks only 36 gallons so dosing was cheap for me. I also dosed 2x the recommended dose. I'd turn skimmer off or let it overflow. I'm no expert btw. The recommended dose is way lower than what you need btw.

I noticed that on the recommendation dose..my calculations was to raise it by 0.04 & it only went up 0.02..

for the first several months that I set up my 200 gallon I had the same issues lots of fish lots of feeding no nitrates or phosphate. It wasn’t a big deal the tank flourished, and like was said before eventually it accumulates and you have sustainable levels of both.
For nitrate edition, I suggest looking into dosing ammonia. There is a long thread on it. I like it. For phosphate addition I like to feed reef roids once or twice per week the phosphate levels linger.
