I am looking for suggestions on the best type of clowns for a 20 gallon tank with a Rose Bubble Tip Anemone.

Is it feasible to have 2 clowns in a tank that size?

I’ve never kept a nano tank so I’m seeing from others what works well. It’s for my daughter. Thanks

Also, only do 2 if they are different sizes. If you can only them the same size, wait several months. Clowns develop their sex later on and it will lead to aggression. You can slow that down by having them at different sizes.

20 gallon is, although a little small, fine for a pair of any breed of perc or ocellaris clowns.

They may take over the whole tank. Also, bubble tips aren't natural hosts, although many clowns will take to them.

I was under the impression that the Ocellaris would be too large for a 20 gallon.

I have a 7 year old Ocellaris and she is quite large in my 262 gallon.

I would not put her in a 20 gallon.

Is there a smaller clown than the Ocellaris? It appears the Percula ends up being the same size.

Perculas or Ocellaris for your tank.
Clarkiis will dominate your entire tank
Maroons are just too aggresive and get pretty big,
Tomatos are just nasty
Caramels or Cinnamon might be fine? They are more aggressive than Percs or Ocellaris
I have two Ocellaris in my 40 and they get along fine, they are juveniles and my ones just stick to the corner and are slowly getting closer to my BTA. Clownfish have a lot of personality and I see people who can put their hand in the tank and the Ocellaris do not do anything but I swear everytime a finger goes in the tang my Ocellaris (Nicknamed Jaws) will just jump right at me.

I know the Ocellaris would be fine in a 20 gallon. I just was looking for something smaller.

I think most people don’t realize how large they actually get after 7 years or so.

Here are my 7 year old Ocellaris Clowns. The black one is huge compared to the average purchase size which are tiny.
