Hey everyone!
im getting a build set up for a new nuvo 20 pro and I’m trying to see if I have the bestI can get to be as successful as I can be.
Here’s the build list I have so far:
Tank: nuvo fusion 20 pro
Heater: cobalt 75w
Light: either 2 ai prime hd or 1 radion xr15 pro g5 (any advice would be great!)
Skimmer: aquamaxx hob 1.5 (anyone have any experience with these?)
Flow pump: mp10
Return pump upgrade: 2 sicce 1.0?
Ato: jbj nano
Filtration: filter sock with chemipure blue nano and a marine block for bio filtration.

does anyone have experience withany of this equipment or have any suggestions for upgrades or changes to this build? Thank you!! Appreciate you all.

Equipment looks great, glad to see another Nuvo 20. I like to get ideas from others reefers with the same tank.
I use the Nuvo DC skimmer and works great. I have similar flow, MP10, spin stream but use the sicce 1.5.
I seen lots of folks go with the previous generation radion, the G5 will be great for this tank. I like that radion have the well know AB+ setting.

Do you just use the one sicce 1.5 for both outputs? Do you think the one g5 will have enough coverage for the length of the tank? That's my main concern because others say that you might need two, I feel like it should be sufficient though. I'll for sure look into that skimmer, because the HOB option seems kind of too bulky for me.

Yes one Sicce 1.5 with the Y fitting for both return. I seen people go with the .5 for each return, it helps with redundancy but takes more space. I have another Sicce 1.0 I use to mix salt that can use in case of failure from the 1.5. My back chamber holds the heater, ato sensor, return pump, Neptune probes and the light arm is also in the way. I'm sure you could fit both Sicce .5 and all the equipment but it will be crowded.
Im not sure on the Radion coverage maybe others can chime in but I seen some nice Nuvo 20 tanks with that light G3/G4. I also think they spread the led on the G5 which could help with the light spread.

I would choose a Tunze over the HOB skimmer.

I’ll probably go with the same 1.5 with the y fitting. I might just go with the radions because they just look so nice and maybe the diffuser will help out get the spread I’m looking for. Do you run a refugium or do you find what you have is good enough

My Nuvo 20; I use Eshopps skimmer, it’s “ok”. Tunze got best reviews but would take up middle chamber forcing to move return pump and / or mods. The Aquamaxx I looked at, is bulky, but might preform good (?).

Return pump I upgraded one size higher, Mighty Jet. No fuge, but I am using the UV sterilizer, seems to work ok (can’t really tell, but water is clear and fish are healthy). I use the bio pellet reactor but mixed feelings.

I use 2 AI prime. Works great. No complaints.

I used ATI T5, Tunze 9001, Smart ATO, Mp10. Great tanks.

Unfortunately I lost this tank in a fire, really liked the coloration and growth.

I went with IM mighty jet for my IM 40, Nuvo Skim works great for me. I went with AI 26 HD for lighting.

I used the ATI 4 bulb fixture. I will look around for more images. The fixture was on a rack. Great growth under the fixture.

Out of those two lights, I’d choose the primes due to less of a spotlight effect. I have a Noopsyche k7 pro ii on mine and it has pretty good coverage, would be even better if the pucks were separate (like the primes)

Depends on what you are keeping. It was recommended through research (BRS videos and threads here). It helped spread the coverage more. But I’m no expert, I just went with what was recommended and worked for me. Sometimes better to have more than you need than to be lacking.
