I have a Reefer 350 G2 with the stock sump, Reefmat500, Reef Octopus 150 skimmer, and Orlushy return pump set at 850 GPH. (790 GPH recommended by Red Sea).

When I installed the reefmat I removed the filter sock holder and the 1st vertical glass baffle where the emergency down flow empties into.

The water level in my sump went up a bit- the water is literally level with the holes in the baffle between the filter chamber and skimmer chamber (it was a nice pour over theough the holes before). Then the water seems to be flowing nicely over the next baffle and sponge filter to the return pump chamber.

The flow seems ok and there doesn’t seem to be any stagnant spots- the pile of rocks is less flow but planning to dose with pods later so seems alright. Downflow valve seems good water just below and silent operation

As a noob I’m just checking in with y’all to see if I’m set up right or if adjustments need to be made…

Have you verified that it won't overflow if your return goes out?
Yes! I had turned the return off to test and was fine.
