Hey all,
I have been researching the best set up for my sump, and I am wondering if I should do something differently. It does not appear to have a bubble trap, and from left to right of the picture I have- overflow piping and refugium piping, followed by protein skimmer and small pump to pump water into external refugium, followed by skimmer pump, followed by pump to DT.
I am wondering if I should set this up differently, or turn the sump around in the stand. Just curious y'alls thoughts!

First question;
Why is the skimmer pump in a different chamber, not with the skimmer?

I think because that was the easiest way to place it, and make sure the hose from the pump to the refugium would reach. I guess with the way the flow of water through the sump works, that would make a difference?

If it’s working fine, I don’t see a reason to change it. If you were having skimmer issues, moving the pump with the skimmer would help :)

Thanks! I haven’t actually filled it with water yet, still working on the aquascape! But in preparation for filling with water, I wasn’t sure if I should do something differently, or add in a bubble trap. If you think it may be fine as is, then I will leave it and try it.
