I’m upgrading from a 55 gal to a 140. Won’t be SPS dominant. Mushrooms, zoas, and lps. Maybe a stick here and there. My question to open for discussion is sump size. I’ve always heard bigger is better. Like 1/2 the size of the DT. But why? What if my deltec skimmer is external so I don’t need sump space for that. If I have a sump big enough for a refugium, bio balls (or some other type of media), and a return, does size matter? Keep the comments G-rated! [emoji6]. The sump I’m thinking of is 36” long and that frees up some needed space in my 60” stand

the pic included is the sump still at the owners house. I plan to pick it up on Saturday. Don’t know much about it. Will have to research more about it when I get it Thanks everyone

You can probably ditch the wet/dry section for a reef. Yank the drip plate and bio balls and use that for mechanical filtration and use the next chamber for a fuge.

I am running a 40B (36") on my 75
