Hey gang, I'v all ways heard people talking about these sponges that grow in there sumps. Some say that if there are no sponges in your sump you will have trouble keeping sps corals.
Now I have a 210gal reef with a trigger sump. I.'v also bin dosing this sponge power that I saw on BRS. I'V never had any thing like this. The tank is about 10 months old with mostly dead rock.
Has any one used this product or have experience with these sponges??

Yeah they come and go in the back of my AIO.

I dose spongepower one drop a week for a 20galish total volume system. I way underdose per instructions but it seems to keep everything happy in my low nutrient system.

If you need info on sponges here is a link to some good info. You can also search for "Steve Tryee sponges" You will find info on how important they are to a reef system and how they can filter a large amount of DOC and turn it back into reef food.

Tunicates? Also filter feeders. They seem to be doing ok just filtering out your water.
I sought out live rock from reefers and LFS to get sponges.

Thanks all. It is a little expensive, but it seems to work well, this tank has only been running for about 8/9 months.

east. They are in the back of the sump so it's kind of a ***** to get to. And just wait till I plumb In the new 55gal. tank with PVC drain, it will even be tighter to get to.

I have a lot of really healthy sponges in my sump and under rocks in my displays. I feed live phyto, and recommend that. There are a lot of other benefits of it for your corals and pods. No need for supplements.

I've got pineapple sponges and some unidentified ones popping up everywhere in my sump. Seen some in the DT. I've been removing them. Should I not be removing them?
