So a bit of progress today. I'm going to try to devote an hour or 2 minimum each day and make a plan of what to do the night before (ha I say this). Today I moved the base of the 45 and cleaned it. Took all the equipment of the RS max e170 and have it in a container to add vinegar and water for a few days. Silicon remove comes tomorrow so I will start removing that stuff so we can see better what is the issue with the bulkheads.

Cleaned half of the glass of the 125 today. Discovered that all 3 of the marine orbit powerheads were not working! Only 1 other powerhead was working. So that explains some of the algae gathering at the overflows and blocking water from going in. Removed some algae. Most of it is just pulling off from the rocks.

Confirmed that my poor clown is still alive in the overflow.... I'm hoping by filling overflow with sand and forcing him up, we'll get him out, or at least make it so I can net him. Then I have to hope I can vacuum out all the sand. Going to use sand I'm tossing anyway.

Tomorrow, I'll finish the glass, and see if I can confirm what fish I still have. After that, I can start in on the sump

remove silicon and see what is wrong--order new seals. Can't do a lot with tank until this is up and running

Cabinet in new spot.

There be fish...

going to remove most of those rocks and redo. I think I have too much rock

clowns were getting tired of me near their coral. They bite and draw blood!

so glad my coral beauty is still with me

I'd like to open a bit more sand up. Coral placement is not so easy, as the top overshadows bottom, and there is not much sand room. I figure I can always add some more rock back. Basically when I took down the 65 gal, I didn't want to waste live rock so tossed it in here.

what do you mean? Time the whites are on?
Limiting the the full spectrum whites help limit algae growth during the uglies. BRStv says to leave lights off for first 3 months. If you have corals, run the blues. But in the end use your judgment. If.you see hair algae and don't have a means to deal with it cuc, tang, etc eliminate the light so it does not get out of controll.

Hope this helps!

I suspect that my no3 and po4 also issues. 1 thing I forgot to do when I set this up in 2017 was I fogot to wash the rocks which was stupid. No idea what they are now. A year plus of neglect, not dosing regularly, seems to have weakened and killed off the majority of algae.

Ordered 2 more current wavemakers as I have the box to hook them together. Ordered the controller as well, as when I sell the current lights, I'll include the controller and I need some way of controlling the new lights. Until then, they just plug into current system. Should be here today! What would I do without amazon's same day delivery...

Today's goals are to remove silicon from the 45g, and finish scraping algae in 125. And then undo all the nicely organized wiring to remove 2 wavemakers not working and hook up new. That should keep me busy...

I love a lot of rock but it does make cleaning difficult. When I rebuilt my rockscape I used this mortar and really like the results. Was able to free up the back of the tank for better flow and access. Be warned, it’s messy and kinda stinks but it holds way better than epoxy and the pink coralline color blends well.

I have that. I did use it on some of the pcs originally. What I found from my first tank, if you need to redo rock, and most of it is cemented, it's very difficult! I may do some pcs when I get rock pulled. I'll rearrange the bottom layer first, except where the goby and pistol shrimp live.

I'd like to get a bit more of a terraced look. I'll prob. keep rock against the 2 overflows to hide them, maybe leave some space at the bottom and use a powerhead down low.

AWESOMENESS! Productive day. Of course, all I did was tank today...
--glass clean on all 3 sides
--new current wavemakers came. They are in. The 1 working one soaking in vinegar near tank (so I didn't have to unclip all the zip ties), 2 that were not working removed and soaking in water/vinegar
--Silicon removed from the AIO 45. Seals cleaned and put back together. will be testing it in a few.
Now to order sand and fish food

Here is the tank all clean. Not much algae in there but rocks full of detritus and sand so they'll get cleaned.
