What a great day! Met and met up with @Sgchick who lives about an hour and a half (maybe less) from me (yah, another woman reefer!!!) She is super nice btw! Check out her new build thread. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/waterbox-105-4-frag-tank.877089/#post-9652048 She got 2 cute and tiny clowns today ;) My hubby drove us to a fish store about 1.5 hrs away. Haven't been there in a couple years. Got my darwin clowns and Barber goby there. I'd forgotten the variety of corals they stock. Lots of 10 buck - 50 bucks and then higher of course. Saw some blue eyed zoas I'd love but not at 50 a head lol's.

Picked up a space invader challice, Jingle Bell Cyphastrea, micromusa (I think), micro goni, acan (not sure what kind), lobo, hammer, blue/pink torch-joker?, purple candy cane, orange montipora and 3 anthias trunctus. Corals on sand. Will research where to put them and watch to see how they do.

Right now anthias are out and about and getting a bit bullied by the staghorn damsels, the clowns, the hawk fish ! Should have taken the opportunity to get rid of those staghorns. Hoping things will settle. Love anthias. Should have gotten 5 lol's.

Here are some pics. Will get more when my lights are full on.

Lights are not on yet. Here are some prelight pics. The new corals are looking pretty good so far. I am so unbeliveably thrilled with this tank. After my last tank that could not support lps or sps, to now have a tank that does feels so amazing. If I think back to my first tank, an aio 60g that had also done amazing, I now realize that I had started to lose many of my big growers before the crash, and I had 2 leathers getting big in that tank as well, so part of my problem had been toxin warfare (even with carbon) and part high nutrients. So 5 years into this hobby, it's nice that it is going so well (and yeah, I know there will be bumps in the road lol's but I know now I can do this!)

Acans nice and fluffed this morning

My favia. Back side has tentacles out so it must be happy where it is. I hope. Waiting for it to do better still

can't resist. Tanks with full lights. 80/18. New corals looking very good! Hammer might be in a too high area but I'm going to move it up closer to the frogspawn anyway for my euphillia garden after a couple days acclimation.

Anthias doing well. Love those fish! Will get another group of 3. Not so much bullying today! Fed tank black worms and the fish went nuts. Should look into cultivating myself. Along with starting my brine shimp back up and even doing my own copepods and phyto again. Just have to figure out where to set up.

Colors on acan and lobo are awesome. Goni opening.

Placed a few of the new corals. I'm such a control freak with my tank, I want the encrusters to only encrust what I want lol's.. Put the Cyphastrea and the micro goni on the right side figuring maybe tall corals can survive. Or my euphillia garden will keep them in line! Need to find out if my space invader is a chalice or a pectinia. The store had some nice big pectinia so I'm thinking it is that. Will ask in forum.

My fish love the black worms I got. Definitely will have to keep in stock.

Called in to work this morning so after afternoon nap, no time to work on hooking up doser! Need to be gone 4 days later in Jan. so need ato and dosing hooked up! And the trident

tank not looking so bare anymore. Next trip to fish store maybe 1 or 2 sticks for the tips and more euphillia, maybe goni, a longer tentacle galaxy, plate and meat corals. Acans as well. There are a couple wild colored chalices I like too lol's but I am going to have to be thoughtful as to what I get with where it will go. Oh an elegance too. Okay, still too many on my wish list!

chalice or pectinia

Lol's. That is what I was thinking, especially as the store had lots of pectinias in the 3-6 inch range. Saw a rainbow pectinia. I want!!! I am going to try to contain myself until the end of January for more corals or fish lol's. I do have 2 50 dollar credits to use at Live Aquaria and Corals Annoymonous so may try to use those up. I think corals can withstand the colder shipping more than fish! I'll ask opinions on that.

Last post of the year if I hurry lol's. Ending 2021 with a tank I love and feel so good about. It's been an amazing almost 3 months. I'll be gone for almost a week later in Jan. so need to get my tank set for hubby who is NOT a reefer!

Actually ran my dosing lines and have the outlets hooked up. Need to hook up temp inlet lines to prime and calibrate. Don't want to use my dosing chamber--1 piece with 3 sections as it will be a pain to get the water out as I'll have to disconnect the input lines. The lines on the container won't come off easy. That will be for tomorrow.

Also got my dehumidifier in today so it is up and running. Hubby going to modify and use a pump to pump collected water into the washer drain. Hope there is room in the hole running from my office into the laundry room lol's.

Also placed the apex ato where I can see it in the return chamber. Had to move the apex probes. Will hook up to the apex and get that going.

Also ordered 2 adaptive reef controller cabinets--the smaller of their offerings. 1 for each side of the room.

And next week, I will order my clear view lid!

I think the lid and the controller boards were the last of the higher end things to order. This tank should be set. Need to figure out how to hook up the trident and contact Neptune support to see what I need to do as it is used. If I can get that done before I leave, that will relieve me a lot! Now if only I could have and keep my days off and not get called in because of no shows/call outs/etc. life would be great. I'm getting beyond exhausted from work too many days straight.

Oh, had to order a new skimmer pump for the RS Max e170 observation tank that is home to 2 clowns so need to get that set up

So happy New year R2R

Some good, bad and ugly...
Ugly and bad!: spotting algae in my tank!! PO4=.08, NO3=5 so nutrients are good. So will do the following:
--10-15 ml vibrant once a week instead of every other
--50-80 ml MB 7 once or twice or 3x's a week instead of every other week. Will dose 40 ml for 3-4 days than go 1 or 2x's a week. Will keep eye on no3 and po4
--continue nopox. 10 ml daily
--Get some chaeto. Ordered a hamster ball and have an AI Prime Fuge light now so will get chaeto and maybe ulva sea lettuce
--Cut light hours to 10 hours. Lights on 930 to 10pm.
--Whites back down to 12 from 18%. Whites off at 8pm. At 12% for 3 hrs.
--Leaving Blue at 80%. 80% for 5 hrs. Don't want to mess with happy corals!!!
--Maybe replace the boyds elite (with gfo) although P04 is good right now
--Order more CUC but with very little left over food, I don't want critters to starve. I feed 3x's and heavy. 1 feeding pellets just to get food down to cuc.

Good & Bad:
--Hooked up the trident my b-i-l gave me. It's working. It's numbers do not match mine though!!!
Trident just now Hanna & API just now
Ca 270 360
ALK 7.9 9.2
Mg 1470 1440
Not sure what to do or which numbers to believe... Or how to adjust my dosing...

Super Good:
--Ordered my clearview lid, the Pisces exo
--Ordered 2 control panel/boards from BRS

Bad:
Went to hook up my RS doser and it already had data on it! Asked me if I wanted to reset. Said yes. Head one not working.... Back to RS support. A bit irritated about this as I was already to get things going

Good:
Got a replacement motor for one of the RS gyres (rs45's). It's working now but kept stopping. Took a bit of effort to get it but they came thru.

Let the tank drama begin lol's. Will get a full tank shot tomorrow after work for the new year. Should be home by 2ish
