Video works fine on my PC and my Android phone ;)
Great!
Perhaps it’s just @Lasse then. He has trouble getting notifications on whats app (where we have our group chat for the aquarium staff).. So he might need to upgrade his phone! Or maybe he’s just ignoring us..;Woot

You did not understand my French. It works to upload from a iPhone but you can't watch the video in a IPhone but it works on PC and Android. Exactly as Fudsey wrote. I can always see the videos with my Android.

Sincerely Lasse

@Lasse , now we’ve seen more of your all time favourite reef tank! I even know the phosphate levels ;)

We had a great meeting with the coral staff at Nausicaa yesterday and took a long tour around their tanks and behind the scenes. Even did some tests to look for coral eggs since we had an expert among us in the group.

So go and visit Nausicaa sea Center in Boulogne-sur-Mer if you have the chance! It’s an amazing place.

They use all kinds of lights. The two largest tanks gets natural sunlight, plus lights. I only saw a couple of halides, so I think they were switching more and more to LEDs.

Did you guess it correctly?
:) I was pretty close.
They do daily water changes with natural sea water from the beach outside the aquarium and that adds quite a bit of nutrients some parts of the year.

I could use an opinion from my European friends!

I will be going to Europe for a work trip in the near future and have what will basically be one Sunday in Dusseldorf where I have no obligations most of the day. Is the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum there worth a visit?

I haven’t been there. Or heard of it. But did a quick search and it looked like they opened up in 2017, so it’s pretty new.

But you will only be 90 minutes away from Royal Burger Zoo in Arnhem! I say go there and have a look at the 800’000 litre live reef tank instead :)

That's huge!!! ;Drool

Not sure I'll be able to do it but I would love to. Our flight lands that morning so not sure I'll have time to get there via public transportation. Not to mention that I'm the typical dumb American who only knows one language so getting around Europe can be challenging.... ;Facepalm

I do need to look and see if I can figure it out, that place looks amazing.

My colleague set me up as a speaker at the meeting for Scandinavian public aquariums this week. So I have two days to figure out what I will talk about. Lots of time..
Here’s what the talk is about(my colleague choose the title).

Well this should be as easy as it gets.

Take all the coral from your old system. Cut them into 1/4" frags and give them colorful names after superhero's and fantasy creatures. Sell them at ridiculously marked up prices and hire someone else to cultivate frags in the new large tank while you enjoy retirement.

Might make for a short lecture.

When I have to speak I stick to what I "know". I always feel more comfortable and I get better response. Best of luck!
Yes, I agree on that!
At the moment it’s hard to decide what to leave out. I could go on for hours when I start talking about our coral tanks :)
Closing an aquarium and moving all animals into a temporary aquarium is one part. Growing corals is one(but not in detail, that will take too long). And the new 400000 litre tank is one part.
But the theme for the day is conservation. So I need to rearrange things a bit. Coral propagation must be a kind of conservation. We don’t need to get corals from the sea anymore:)
Thanks for the support!

I think You have experienced to many things the last 10 years to cover in 1 speak.
Make at least 4. Here are a few possible items just for You.
Starting with corals in a public aquarium.
Coral propagation for public aquariums.
Maintaining the water quality for public aquariums.
Choosing corals for a public aquarium.
Working with architects and the city to get fonds and build permits for a public aquarium.
Handling a nerd guest / visitor / friend / coworker in a public aquarium.

I am sure each one of those will have to be cut back not to exceed 1 hour.
And I am sure You have a few more subjects.
