Sweet smell from homemade soda ash

Hi guys, I made soda ash by cooking arm and hammer baking soda, and it's got a sweet smell, reminiscent of Tide laundry detergent. The baking soda did not smell like this at all. I've noticed a similar smell from my Red Sea blue bucket salt, but much less potent than the saturated alk solution. Am I nuts?

I’m not sure what the smell is or why it would smell now when it didn’t before.

What did you bake the baking soda on?
Recently wash the baking pan?
Parchment paper Or aluminum foil? Perhaps some type of wax or nonstick coating.

Oven cleaned recently?

Figured it out. The dry soda ash was put in a jar that was a scented candle in a past life. I'm an idiot, but not enough of one to put it in my tank.
