Hey everyone! Wife and I are doing some slimming down on our tanks. With a toddler and busy work schedule, tank maintenance is becoming increasingly harder to do.
We've got 5 tanks currently (75 and 40 reefs, 20 qt/holding salt, and a 10g and 125 fresh.
We're planning on keeping just the 75 and 125. We want to make the 125 fresh our reef tank, and the 75 reef our fresh tank.
I should be able to use most of the equipment from the 75 on the 125, plus adding a few things.
We have a lot of rock in the 75, but fear with designing a new scape and all outside of the tank before officially putting it in, we'll likely kill it. I think we'll probably go with mostly all ne rock, and keep some of the established alive for helping cycle the new setup.
As for fish and corals, we'll keep most of them in the 75 and 40s until the 125 is ready.
We'll just need to clean the 75 very well before adding fresh I'm assuming? My good friend at our lfs is likely going to keep my fish and plants I plan on keeping at the store until we're ready to get the fresh set back up.
Priority is the salt tank and making sure we keep everything alive.
Any advice on getting this going in the next few weeks? Thanks!
