Synergy Reef Filter Sock Silencer Review & Decibel Findings

Hi everyone!
I just picked up some of the 7" Synergy Reef Filter Sock Silencers and did some investigative research on how much baffle power they provide vs my Ice Cap sump's filter sock covers with my sound meter. I hope you guys find it useful! Overall I'm super happy with the product and glad I purchased them.

I used silencers and expected more but they did help with noise

@vetteguy53081 out of curiosity, what size socks did you implement them for? I would suspect that smaller than 7" socks may have different baffling capacity. My immediate guess would be its mainly based on how deep the socks are since the sound they're baffling is the height in which the water is dropping into the sock.

I made my one for the red sea 525xl v3. I cut out course filter pad and put it in the top of the filter socks. Easy to put in and take out. Most importantly no noise at all, and they are reusable
