I have to be honest, I would keep the T5! Here is why: Like you mentioned, it does help with shading, but where I find the T5 to be worth they're money is in the variance of colors that the corals can produce with having them. I added a 2 bulb t5 fixture over my 75 gallon DT, which have Kessil lights on them and Par wasn't an issue. But in the 3 weeks time of having the t5 on for 4 hours a day, my Dragon Soul torch looks a lot more gold now, and I noticed some bounce mushrooms appearing with more color too! T5 for the win. Nothing else changed in the tank

The it2080. By evergrow is 240 watts per unit. I think I was actually pushing less watts when I had my MH 400 watts on the tank. Then again. Had to keep a chiller running.
You look to be pushing about 2200 watts.
How many 400w mh's?
Are you dimming the 2080's?

Yes.. I am dimming and the it 2080 are only on for four hours a day for peak hours. years ago I ran 4 MH and some T12's ... the tank rocked on those.. dont get me wrong.. I like the led t5 situation better --- no heat.. no chillers--- no smoking ballasts ect...

Hi. I have the 425xl with T5 4 bulb hybrid and 2 kessil a360’s. Im getting 300 par across the top of the tank and 200 par on the bottom. Corals have been doing poorly. Recently I lowered the intensity to see if it helps. I was interested in your set up. What kind of par are you getting and what lighting schedule do use? Are uou you seeing good results with SPS?
I have great growth of SPS! I keep one side of then tank higher (200-400 par) and the other side lower (100-250) so that I can keep other things as well.

I actually figured I was turning the lights too high until I rented a PAR meter and realized my max par was like 200. After I slowly increased to 400, most of my sps is growing like weeds!
