I recently bought the Aquatic Light 48 IN T5HO Hybrid 4 Lamp and the hanging cable assembly is too long for my holding arms. The cable that anchors to the fixture is 7 inches longer than I need. Is there a shorter cable assembly available for purchase?

You can also cut off excess cable after adjusting height and use a piece of heat shrink tubing on the end to prevent fraying.

Thanks for the replies. The issue is not with the long portion of the “Y” but with the smaller cable section where it anchors to the light fixture itself. It’s currently 23 inches long and I need it to be 14-16 inches to lower it enough to fit under my hanging arms to provide the correct clearance above my tank top.

I doubt they make shorter versions of the smaller cable.. you could cut a section out of it to shorten and then reassemble with one of these..

You could try the ones from the regular ATI sunpower? They are very short, and can be bought on BRS for about 40$.

Not sure about the ones for that specific light, but can you pull them through the bracket(the part that attaches to the light) and make a knot in it to shorten them?

Alternatively, any type of wire rope place can easily cut and re-crimp the end of that slot nut if you wanted. Most probably wouldn't even charge.

I’ve been in contact with Dave. He has been absolutely incredible with his customer support. Hopefully we can find a solution. Thanks to everyone who has offered advice.

We are going to change the length back to the shorter 45cm that worked well for the 18" width. Going forward the customers who purchase the 24" accessories will receive new 60cm suspension cables to span the width of the wider fixture.

PM me with your details and I will see what I can do to help with a shorter wire length or if you may need something different.

How does one going about getting one of these longer ones as I swapped to the 24” wide end plates and now my hanging wires are too short (width) and I can’t hang it back up…

I know this is an old thread, but I’m in the same situation. I sent an email to the address provided above, but I’m curious if anyone here was able to find a resolution to this? I’d really like to find a shorter ‘Y’ cable so my fixture can hang higher off the water when mounted in my canopy.
