Hello,
I am looking at upgrading one of my tanks.
Tangs are my priority with the thought of the upgrade and I don't want them unhappy or cramped.
I can't decide if I should do 6ft v 8ft. They're roughly the same cost but different dimensions
96x36wx24h
Or
72x30wx36h (I prefer the hight/width of this)

I have a scopas & yellow tang so they would move over to the new tank.
Other tangs I want:
-orange shoulder
-hippo
-lavendar
-maybe zebra
-probably others but idk

I will have some of my wrasse in there and likely get a few more

I don't want/plan to upgrade again after this. Just wondering overall thoughts if I should go for the 8ft.

If anybody has experience with tsunami tanks that feedback would be greatly appreciated as well!

Thank you
I moved from a six foot to an eight foot tank for tangs :) if you can get the longer one do that!

i cant think

8 foot, without a doubt. The tangs will have more room to swim length ways in that tank.

Also, with wrasses be careful when mixing with tangs - some will be outcompeted more than others and some absolutely hate the aggressive swimming behaviours of tangs which will stress them out.

Oh I didn't know that! Thank you! What wrasse should I avoid if I have a tang predimonent tank? I have a leopard, orange back, and mccoskers. I'd like to add a few more fairy's. I would love to add a green bird wrasse.

Fairies are alright if you don’t have the more sensitive species like Isosceles.

Certain smaller flashers are also quite hard to have in tang dominant tangs. Pencils, certain Tamarins and certain leopards are also quite easily starved out by tangs.

How tall is your cabinet?
I don't really have a cabinet, per se, more of a antique, "How does he sleep at night with that set up?"
The stand itself is 33 inches tall and came with the tank. I believe it might be the original, and as old as the tank.
The "Wall" is hinged above the tank to allow access for cleaning, feeding etc. Spacing everything out in a room behind this big glass cage allows ease of access for maintaining it all. Re-doing my background, it was black, going to try white and see if I like that color, but really considering blue on bottom fading into white on top to add illusion of depth to the tank.
