I'm trying to decide which direction to go with my lighting. I previously had 2x AI 52HD over my 48x24x20 tank. They were centered front to back and centered between either side of the overflow to the edge side to side (so mounted sideways) and worked great.

With my new setup 48x36x22. I'm trying to decide if

A) I should go with 2x 32hd in addition to the 2x52s or a single 64,
B) How to orientate them.

Here is a rough idea of what I was thinking, w/theoretical rock work with most of the SPS going to be along the back wall and the center, with the tip of the center spire housing some ritteri. It's going to be more of a T than an M but I got a little zealous with my drawing :p

Purple is the tank dimensions
Grey is the Euro Brace
Yellow is the light dimensions
Blackline is the theoretical light spread
Yellow/Green is the tentative rockwork

1) 2x AI HD52s 1xAI HD64
2-4) 2x AI HD52s and 2xAI HD 32

Thoughts, suggestions? I'm new to LED. In the past, I would have tossed 2 Luminarcs with SE bulbs in them and call it done.

I recommend the 1st option because light gets dispersed more evenly then

Hmm, 1st option is my least favorite tbh. The lights while being dispersed evenly over the tank aren't really taking into account the location of the inhabitants; most of the SPS are along with the back rock work.

Hrmmm..

I don't have a halide setup anymore, that was nearly a decade ago. :(
