Hey everyone! I’m a local artist and art student and I’ve recently started doing uv reactive reef themed paintings- the kind people put above their tank! I need some inspiration from you guys about what to paint, because I have too many ideas! Tell me what to paint! What’s your favorite fish? Favorite coral? Do you have any unique ideas for a painting??? I’m counting on you guys for ideas to practice with! Thanks in advance and if anyone is interested in seeing my work further I’d love to share!

your art is super cool! keep up the amazing work :)

I like to draw as well... my personal favorites to paint are damselfish and clownfish. relatively simple markings yet really fun to do. I'd love to try more neon art like you!

and I find while painting it really helps to go over every spot multiple times and really take the time to build color. it might help the colors really pop against each other. just a suggestion!

Thank you! Also— I forgot to say in my original post that these are all rough drafts so they’re definitely not full color! But I know what you’re saying, I love to layer on colors until theyre super bright too!

I started out drawing too! I mean, it was forever ago but still haha- if you need any tips on incorporating neon into your work or the best paints to try, I would be more than happy to chat any time! My inbox is always open :)

I would love to see some of your work, too! Show me some aquatic art you’ve done! I am always looking for other artists because so few of them paint fish haha!

What kind of paint do you use? I used acrylic paint on my pour art. It looks super cool in the aquarium lights at night. Id like to give this a shot! I draw a bit but not sure how it'll turn out got any tips?

I think painting over the pour art would be wicked. But it might be a bit much unless done right. You should paint a trachy! That would be sweet.

thank you! i don't have any of my finished pieces on me right now because most of the fish stuff i've done is doodles and things but i'm working on some projects currently. i really admire people with a more realistic style that play with some aspect like colors as you do and produce some wildly awesome result :)
