So my tank lol
It has been a chore! It has been up and running about 5 months. 50 gallon tank.
I just had a run of velvet go through it and we lost 5 of our 8 fish.
What survived is our Foxface Rabbit fish “Foxy Todd”, a baby Green Chromis, and my first fish a blue damsel named “Jewel”. They are all in QT and not too thrilled with it but I am waiting for the 6 week mark before returning them to the big tank. 4 weeks to go.
As far as corals I have the following;
Zoa frags: Bob Marley, Peachy King, and a Mohawk
Pink Torch (my fav)
Toadstool Leather
Interstellar shroom
Pulsating xenia
Acans x2
Duncan x1
Platygyra
Echinata

we also have a Fire Shrimp naked “Alister” and a naughty urchin who keep rearranging and eating my Macroalgae plants .

I am running a canister filter but in the process of doing a self build sump.

Pretty new to reefing, but

I have a IM 25 AIO running for about 2 months now. Currently holding my fish and corals from my 75 gallon. Still trying to get a long term successful tank running. But it has been difficult with equipment failures, moves and dinos.

IM 25
Radion xr30
ghost skimmer
tunze ato
mp10
sicce 1.5

Corals
frogspawn
kenya tree
2 mushrooms
finger nail sized forest fire digi

Inhabitants
2 juvie clowns
1 royal gramma
1 juvie yellow tang
a few hermit crabs and snails(need more cuc)

Will hopefully be setting up my 75 gallon again soon. Wanting to do a sps dominant tank, but I need to update power heads, sump, new rocks and maybe some other equipment.

My build is extremely simple. I’m a renter and a mom on a tight budget, so I couldn’t go too crazy. It actually worked out really well because I love the footprint of this tank. Also, I was able to place it in a spot of my home where it is fully viewable from 3 sides, so that is really cool (and makes maintenance so easy)!

IM 25g Lagoon

NanoBox Duo

IM Mightyjet Midsize Return Pump (538 gph)

2 InTank Media Baskets

Cobalt Neo-Therm 100w Heater

AutoAqua Smart ATO Micro

IM Hydrofill 5g ATO Reservoir

2 Clownfish, 1 Emerald Crab, various Snails & Hermits

Rock Flower Anemones, Zoas, Duncans, Dendros, Blastos, Candy Canes, Hammers, Gorgonian, Lepto, Acans, 2 big Toadstools, and a bunch of various softies. Space is starting to get a little tight, but I’m really hoping to add a true Rainbow Trachy one day.

So, my tank....

I have a standard 75 gallon with corner overflow. Bought it used about 8 months ago. I’m upgrading as money allows, but this is where I am as of right now.

2 Red Sea 90s
2 Hydor power heads
Sump is pretty much a 29 gallon with no baffles, just filter sock, curve 5 protein skimmer and return pump.
That’s pretty much it. I don’t dose anything, use any media or anything like that yet.

I have a 130g mixed reef tank set up about four months ago - it’s still a baby. Some of the rock & coral came from an older nano tank though.
Corals:
various zoas
Green torch, Hammer, E. crispata
Leptoseris
Leptastrea
monti caps and some branching ines
A few different chalice frags
Ricordea & discosoma
Gsp
Rose bta (not a coral but fits here)
Inverts: hermits & urchins
Fish: various, some possibly not entirely reef safe but they were pretty according to “she who makes many buying decisions”. And so far so good.

I set our home web cam to train on the tank so I can watch it while away. I’m writing this message in the airport now (!) heading off for Thanksgiving and here is the right-now screen shot of the tank. Yeah - I’m a bit obsessed with this hobby.
DB026092-0E77-47CE-913F-3C3D031FE6E4.jpeg

I also have a 90 g Malawi cichlids tank. I built the backdrop myself and love how it turned out. they’re fun fish.
B0142830-7474-41F5-BD6B-22C6BC348F17.jpeg

I’ve had fw fish tanks for nearly 30 years but only started into sw & corals about 4 years ago. And only with this current build and the Malawi tank have I gotten into “gadgets”. My previous tanks were more low tech. I’m finding the techy Gadgets part of this hobby to be fun. I mix diy and off the shelf. I think if I ever got an apex or seneye where I could real-time monitor my tank chemistry and conditions I might just stare at data all day long!

I have a 45 gallon JBJ AIO, it's been running for a little over a year. Have recently in the past few months really focused on upgrades and stocking. Tank is still a work in progress with a very incomplete stock list, but we're getting there. Planning on adding a Diamond Goby, and a Yellow Coris wrasse, and a flasher/fairy wrasse. Hoping to eventually upgrade to a larger tank sometime down the road.

Tunze 9004 DC skimmer
Tunze 1073.05 return pump
IceCap 1K Gyre

Two Ocellaris clowns
One Lawnmower Blenny
