Tens of brine shrimp in my copepod culture.

Hey guys, I checked my copepod culture today after a few days only to find tens of artemia shrimps swimming in it. Here's a video of one:



The last time I fed my aquarium brine shrimp was a month ago. I used some skimmate when I set up the copepod culture (hoping it would function as a ferilizer for the phyto), so that's my guess on how the ended up there, it's been a month though since I last fed brine shrimp so its pretty weird. Do they eat pods or just phyto? Do these things survive and reproduce?
