now I am thinking...playing with ideas I would love a PBT but maybe drop that one from the list and add a few more wrasse to the list. 3-4 or a group of anthias?
what do you all think??

I don’t keep Anthias they’ve never done anything for me. I’m also not able to feed them several times per day as required for them to be healthy. Sorry I’m no help there!

Wrasse are great but I personally like the handsome color, shape, and activity of tangs but in a perfect world I’ll have several of each!

yeah I see that I just read though you 500 gal build thread....then I saw a YT vid you did a while back about wrasses.
I was like hey I know that guy...haha

today i officially started the cycle on the QT tanks. while I move the 40brs in to place I set up a small 10 gal with one of the HOB filters and a bunch ot Seachem matrix. I used Martix as hear it does not adsorb cu. dosed to 2ppm ammonia and added 1oz of fritz turbo start 9000.

i'll test this eve, as see whats the story... I know it will take a few days but just gonna track it to see if I get the same results as Dr.reef thread about bottled bac.

well crap some how I lost my API color chart for my 'master test kit' was gonna test the ammonia today and see where we are at. booo need to get that sorted out I thought I was all good there.

in other news my clear view lid is being cut today and hopefully ship out this week. not that I am in a hurry for it as tank is still on living room floor...ugg but it will be nice to have it none the less.

so one of many reason for the upgrade is....I was getting way to much stuff from @AquaSD my not so LFS. when you live in wyoming there not much out here. I have a thing for LPS... trach's, acans and Euphyillia just to name a few. so yeah I blame them for the upgrade...lol
and here is my all I want for xmass entry hope I will win I have lots of space to fill up now!

thanks for tagging along! new builds are always fun to see it come together. feels like its taking me for ever to this QT set up cycled so i can move forward. but you cant rush nature and that how this hobby is hurry up and wait...then it all comes together...then you wait some more..lol

So an update on the Qt tanks
I am filtering the media ( 2L of SeaChem matrix) in a 10gl. Then will move it to the 4obr.

I added 1oz of turbo start 9000 cold. dbl the dose.
On Sunday afternoon dosed to 2ppm amonina yesterday it was a .50

Oh and good news I found the API color chart!

so just tested the QT tank was hopping to redose ammonia today but still @.25 will test again late the eve, as see.

its been 2.5 days so not bad from 2PPM down to .25.
so far fritz turbo start 9000 is living up to what @Dr. Reef test thread did. I did dose 2x the amount. 1OZ for 25 gal.

Well I did not test last night but did this Am. Still @ .25. I am a bit surprised as I though for sure it would be 0.

Hmm not sure if I should wait till 0 then redose ammonia up to 2ppm or just go ahead and do it now.

It's holding up getting the tank off the floor and in the stand as I can't do that until the 40br is out of the way.

My API test kit always showed .25 when every other tested 0. I just knew it was off and went accordingly. So, you might wish to dose up and go.

yeah I'll test again tonight if it reads .25 PMM i'll dose back up to 2PMM and see how long that takes to get back to 0.

Nice! I’m jealous. My SW tanks are slowly growing bigger and bigger. I started with a 29, then upgraded to a 60, then to a 125. The only thing that stopped me from getting a 500 instead of my 125 was my husband worrying the floor wouldn’t hold. Now I have to figure out an excuse to go gawk at yours so he gets the itch to upgrade again. He acts indifferent, but put him in front of corals and he’ll spend more than I do. Haha.
