Nice! I’m jealous. My SW tanks are slowly growing bigger and bigger. I started with a 29, then upgraded to a 60, then to a 125. The only thing that stopped me from getting a 500 instead of my 125 was my husband worrying the floor wouldn’t hold. Now I have to figure out an excuse to go gawk at yours so he gets the itch to upgrade again. He acts indifferent, but put him in front of corals and he’ll spend more than I do. Haha.

Are you on the Idaho Reef Facebook groups? There are some guys in east Idaho that run LFS out of their homes

haha yeah this was supposed to be a nono...and look what happened. funny how that happens eh?
no I am not whats its called? I do know Steve who I think your talking about tho.

um I think your hubby might have been right tho? 500 gal is a ton of weight. but a few floor supports and some I beams and there you go..
:D

It took a lot of discipline to say no to a giant tank and stand for $100. It was painful. I doubt we could have even got the stand through the door though...and it would have taken up most of the real estate in my living room. Lol

The pages are Reefers of Idaho and Snake River Reefs. Both are good. There’s Steven in Rigby, Dallin in Rexburg, and another guy in Pocatello that have shops and can order things in for you.

The Utah Reef Keepers group lets us southern Wyoming folks in too. There are lots of shops around Bountiful. I have a whole big list and am dying to do a shop crawl. :D

So yesterday I did light surgery!
I upgraded my reefbreederes Photon V2 to the new V2+ so both lights woukd work on the new controller.

This was no instructions or info in the web so I just went for it....ahhh it was a little nerve racking to say the least but the light came through just fine.

let there be light!! later today I will test both lights together to make sure they do indeed work but I was running the V2 off the new V2+ controller so i dont see why it would not.

there was no info or instructions out there so I did a step by step write up. maybe it would help other reefers.

Getting the 40br holding tank moved today feels good to make progress!

Corals are in a 20l fish are in a 10gal for a few more hours.
And live rock is separated. A ton of work when you need the stand and tank to complete your task...

Oh on a side note, epic fail on the PVC reef for the Qt. They float!! :(
So gotta come up with a safe way to get them to sink.

Thought I would post a pic of the Qt tanks.
Double 40br once the 750 is up off the floor and one the stand the LR will go in there. the bottom tank with be for prizipro and the top will be internal parasites & copper treatment.

I solved the floating PVC problem and added some fun glass where.

some updates the PVC in the QT did not work out. I glued 2 of the things I made to the big heavy duty beer mugs they held for a day then popped off. no worries I have a glass reef now.

got the tank unwrapped 1st time seeing her naked!
got the stand centered
and got a crew of friends over to get it off the floor and no the stand! gotta say I dont know what I like more the look of the tank on the stand or having my floor back...

thought I might have gotten the wrong stand as the tank was hanging off the back of the stand. but I hear it hangs off the front and is flush once the doors are on. would have been nice if that said in the instructions.
