fish update...

got the order in, the royal gramma did not make it. :(

but the McCosker’s Flasher is doing great already swinging around and checking out his new home. fish looks great.

the midas blenny is still stress and showing that and is hiding in the corner.

the cleaner ship was so tinny, maybe an inch at best . He is lost in the big tank but I did see it so at this point he's still alive.

the fighting conch is not in the spot I added it. so that gave my hope this am that its in the sand bed and will come out at some point. really excited about this guy being a big part of the CUC.

lighting are off. heck there not even hung..lol but its on the list to do next day off.

its good to have life in the tank.

well I have not seen the flasher wrasse in a few days. starting to think the worst. its a big tank and he is a small fish so maybe its in there some where.

also have not seen the fighting conch

I did see the cleaner ship the other day so I know it in there.
but over all not the best start to life in the tank.

on the postive side the midas blenny stating to ack normal got its golden color and eating still hiding but some rock and is very timid bit over all doing a ton better than the 1st few days.

got my light hung yesterday now just to do some wire management and start them off nice and low.
but my kinda LFS (1.5hr drive each way) is having a coral auction this weekend and I might scoop up some corals...we will see.

still waiting on the turbo L2 scrubber. its been 8 months or so I forgot it been so long but with covid and now trying to get the parts he has been having a rough time but I wanted to have the ATS up and running when I started the lights....IDK I guess I could just keep stocking with fish and no light for the next few months. OR turn the light way WAY down.

well the only fish that survived the last order was the midas blenny maybe the cleaner shrimp have not seen it in a few days.

there is a very slim chance the McCosker’s Flasher wrasse is in there as its a big tank and he was a small fish but I am not holding my breath on that one. not sure what happened he was doing great for 2 days then was in a rock crevice and never to be seen again.

all that said I ordered a small CUC with a few snails hermits.
then yesterday I placed another fish order

I got

Royal Gramma - Conditioned
Leopard Wrasse Blue Star - Quarantined
Leopard Wrasse Ornate - Quarantined

Leopard Wrasse Black - Quarantined
Yellowfin Flasher Wrasse

the lopards will be QT and eating really do hope these guys make it.

update time!
its been an ODD month.
the flasher wrasse was never found no body nothing.
I have not seen the cleaner shrimp in weeks.

I placed an order of fish but the shipping date got mixed up so its on hold for a week I will get them 3 days before going on vacation.

I was so excited I bought a nice koij wada pink nepth frag from a member here on R2R a nice big piece along with a $50 over night shipping. got it in the tank the next morning melted. :( there is some hope that maybe an inch of the 6" frag might survive. hope so but it's not looking good at at. :(

next up my avast ATO never worked I finally contacted them and we did some trouble shooting and there seeding out a new switch. so at least I got that figured out. but my tank setter will have to top off by hand again...

what else... I did get a smallish CUC from reef cleaners there doing there job but some algae is starting to show.

I did get an Euphyillia pack from a localish reefer about 2hrs away. GF had me cleaning the garage so I decided to ship it over night and not drive 4hrs for coral.
i got classic frogspawn, purple hammer, yellowhammer purple with green tip torch.
there going good so that is great news.

OH I got a set of new hinges from RS as one of mine I could never to get to work was a real PITA so I have another tank project to do.

i'll get some pics of the corals up!

It came pkged pretty well.
I like that it was in a small cup to protect it.

Here it is all deflated like soft corals do.

Here it is all deflated like soft corals do. talked to the saller and he said it could take a few days to inflate. that has been my experience to. so no big deal

got another ATO switch. the pressure switch is somewhat stick on that one too, we think it's the shipping altitude. but they sent me some info on how to fix that. so that will happen later today.

in other reefing news. it's fish day!
2 of the leopards where not looking good in QT so they did not ship.

one of the leopards so far looks good along with take two of the royal gramma and a yellow fin flasher.

i'll post some updates. here soon.

well got the fish in.
the royal gramma not looking good at all prob. will not make it.
the leopard berried it self as normal prob. see it in a few days.
the yellow fin flasher of course hid so no new movement still the Midas blenny in the big tank let's hope these guys pull though.

I have no idea where the YF flasher is just gonna let things just be and see tomorrow.

I just went through your entire thread and loved it. I love how you documented the entire build, extending back to the house rennovations!

some good news I won $500 in BRS points.
I think I am gonna spend in for kalk dosing here are my options:

Eco tech versa to dose from a 29H tank from the basement.
OR
an avast kalk stirrer with the same pump
OR
go apex and get another DOS.

as of right now I am leaning towards the versa
