I'm so confused. I thought echinata was an LPS and is in the Acanthastrea family
You are correct. I apologize for the oversight on my part. Thanks for pointing that out!

I have all unnamed, basic acros and they’re doing great. I’m trying to get rid of all my gigantic montis to make room for some more colorful acros like Walt Disney and orange dreamsicle. I wanted to make sure I’m good with acros before spending big bucks on frags.

I went with acros as I love them and most of m ine are doing very well. I love the hairy tenius! My montis are also all plating or encrusting and even my stylos are doing well.

Not gonna make any friends but….I do not understand why anyone likes acros and other “sticks”. They don’t add any movement/flow to the tank; might as well be rocks.

Just my opinion

I prefer acroporas but only because they don't enjoy killing their neighbors like most of my preferred LPS.
Wait till they get bigger. It hurts to watch the SCOP you grew to 8” over 5 years slowly STN because it lost the battle with the Acro colony next to it… Give those frags lots of space! ;)

I’m an acroholic. The first step in recovery is to acknowledge that…

I like any acros with multiple colors which don’t require tons of blue light to see. But I think my favorite would be Millis. Beautiful colors and tons of movement!

I find this is the opinion of most newer hobbyists. once you get several years and tanks under your belt, most appreciate the challenge and colors acros and sps offer.

Probably my vivid insanity. Before that, was probably my Walt Disney. Before that, it was probably my homewrecker. (This goes back almost 20 years to starting with probably a shortcake of some kind)
