Hello everyone,

So I have been trying to figure out if I like this coral enough to pick up a frag. I have not yet seen it in person and I hope the pics just are not doing it justice. It seems like a purple acro with bright orange polyps is that a big deal?

The Garf Bonsai is purple with bright green polyps and much cheaper. So what is it about the ARC Fireworks acro that makes you love it so much. Is it the purple? The orange polyps? The awesome name? Or is it something else?

Please let me know what you think.

The ones that I have seen are nice, but not exceptional, IMO. To each their own, but this one is unique. I would probably make room for it, but I have not wanted it so bad that I have yet.

It is the ugly stepsister of the better looking and more colorful Gonzo's Cookie Monster, IMO. The Cookie Monster gets photoshopped/LED blue/purple under normal lights with bright red polyps (they are not orange, so if orange is your thing, then this one is not for you).

This picture is from TCK and it can turn into more blue or purple. Also, it grows verrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy slow.

I have seen four or five of these and they have never looked like that pic from TCK. Has anybody seen it actually look like that in person? The ones that I have seen look more like Booms' photo but were larger and perhaps a bit more mature/deeper color.

I got mine from TCK and that pic must be when they first got it in as it is still kind of pale. Once it darkens up the base for me looks like your original pic. I haven't got my polyps quit yet to look like booms. Mine is somewhere in between the original pic and booms. Hopefully one day my polyps look like booms.

Definitely one of those corals that makes me wonder how they command such a price. No offense to the owners here :)

Nope, I am yet to see a full grown colony of it. I think it both ways first its a slow grower and also people chop it before it grows big for money. Mine is still encrusting but holding its colour. With this speed of growth it will become a colony in a decade..lol:)

I have seen that the most obvious difference was the polyp colour.

Yea some prices are just out of this world.... I have a lookalike frag of this coral will see how it turns out. Looks identical to the picture posted by boom corals about the same size too... time will tell and it only costed me 20 bucks!

By the way for all who think it cost few hundred dollars, its not. Currently its as low as $30 for a small frag from Cherry coral.

Those frags might be one of the smallest frags I have ever seen.
