Originally bought 16 chromis for my 210g. They all died in quarantine, looked like uronema marinum (UM). Learned not to buy anything with a red bruise like marks. Instant death sentence for this fish as UM is hard to treat. Next I got 16 from a different lfs, took a chance and didn’t quarantine this time. All are doing well 4 months later. It’s hard to say if this will continue since they are still young. I feed twice a day manually, and my auto feeder dumps flake food 4 times a day (small amount) also, I have anthias which seems to disperse aggression between the chromis

I agree TheKyle. My opinion/experience is Uronema is a bigger problem than them picking on eachother. I quarentine and treat them with 80mg/gal Chloroquine Phosphate, and I don't have great success. Uronema is a bad bug.

I would love to figure out the actual pattern of what causes this Lord of the Flies type nonsense with these fish. I had the same experience with them slowly going missing until there was one left too.

People talk about them as being poor shippers. My experiences with them. Had 5 for 2-3 years. Bought from lfs. Lost all my fish from a disease. 125 g tank
Current tank 250 g. Ordered 9 online and lost all of them within 2 weeks.
Bought 7 more from lfs. Lost 2 pretty much immediately. Remaining 5 alive and well. Only been 2 weeks though. Will see how it goes

Hopefully you beat the odds and those 5 hang around for the long haul. Good luck!
