I’m hoping the reconstruction of my old tank is better than the pre-Ivan version. I have hi confidence. Has a lot more maturing to do. I’ve had the tank it’s self for over 20 years. Have a build thread.

THE BEST IT'S EVER BEEN!

It's Friday so let's make it easy and fun! Eye Candy will be a must in this thread as well!

Today I want to talk about and SEE the best reef aquarium you've ever owned in terms of how it looked to you! It's hay-day if you will. Your reef in it's prime or the best reef of your past. Maybe your reef now is the best it's ever been? So here we go!

1. Post a photo of the best reef aquarium you've ever owned or your best reef in it's prime!

2. Is your current reef aquarium the best you've ever had and if so why? PICS PLEASE!

@DGee's beautiful aquarium that probably ranks up with the best of the best!

The tank itself is the best as it is a new acrylic. As far as they coral life and growth, it will be, but it is still young. Here are some old shots of my old 210g and then a video link of a couple weeks ago. I have even had changes since then. :)

Nice! How did that group of Azure damsels get along? I tried a group of 3 in my 54 gallon. Wound up as a group of 2. And then even the two would bicker amongst themselves. Typical damsel behavior. They are definitely one of the “least aggressive” In the genus Chrysiptera, and I love the splash of color they add. I am planing on adding a group of seven to my new build. It’s also a 210. I hope it goes better than my last attempt at 3. I’m thinking with the added room, I should have better luck. I often see them in groups in larger tanks. Just never asked if it works out long term.

My best would have been my 300 gallon reef tank 20 years ago. I had my tank online and you could turn the Guinness light on and off while viewing with a live camera, and pull status of aqua controller pro. This was all fiji live rock. This photo was taken aug 20, 2000.

The best in phases. First, mixed with some montis. Then, reaquascaped to go more sps and some of the beautiful (and costly, for me!) frags I bought.
Thanks to Ostreopsis Ovata. I've lost most of the sps and I'm now planning on a new tank or tanks, after fighting the dinos for months. Trying to decide between one mixed with sps or two small, one with sps and the other with lps.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, and I'll try to do a build thread (or threads) when I get there!

My tank is the first saltwater I’ve ever owned, so it is most certainly my best! It’s got a lot of growing in to do though. And maaaaaybe pest control I hear another mantis in my rock. Meh I’ll leave it for now the current one doesn’t do anything anyway.

Best I ever had. 220 gallon mixed reef. Unfortunately tank sprang a leak. Totally unprepared. Lost everything. Tank was approximately 6 years old.

The azures are great. I began with 9, but one died in qt and I accidentally killed two with h2o2 dump (trying to kill algae and dumped right on them since hiding in rock - dumb, dumb, dumb! They were babies still). So, the 6 have been great. No real squabbles at all. They all have their space. The lemons (a pair) can pick on others, but not horribly. The talbots are great too. No issues yet and I have three. All in their own space except two that hang out together a bit more. The other stays far away. :)

Lemons have spawned a couple times. Really cool to see. Dad is fiercely protective of eggs.
