This is a very interesting thread but I wish people added a current picture of their tanks along with the picture of their Trident values.
Why add an image if almost everyone has an icon that will send a person to the topic to see his assembly:)

I checked 6 months ago and the levels were fine. I do water changes every two weeks and feel that my levels should always be good. Maybe I'll check them again this weekend.

I test Alk 2-3 times a week, cal and Mag 1-2 times a week.
I like to try to keep them at:

alk between 8.6-8.8
Cal between 420-450
Mag between 1350-1400

the closer to the upper end of those ranges is where I’d like to try to consistently keep it

Red Sea manual testing of all 3 performed weekly to ensure Trident readings, after which recalibration to DT water is performed (if needed).

They’re all important to me, but I don’t have a lot of time for tank maintenance. I manually test NO3 every few days as I’m trying to bring my nutrients down. I’m not testing PO4 regularly because I’ll run out of NO3 first by far. Alk is tested 8x daily via KHDirector and I send out a monthly ATI ICP test.

Basically, I’m keeping an eye on the “pulse” several times weekly and getting a monthly physical.

The fact is, I hate testing calcium and magnesium. I find the tests fiddly and I avoid them. Alk is super easy and I don't have much excuse to avoid doing it, but so far my tank seems to keep alk pretty steady (around 10.1) with just water changes (regular Instant Ocean). I like to test it the day before and the day after a water change to confirm. Tank is just over a year old, 50g AIO with a couple dozen corals (softies, LPS, and SPS).

Ca 420 - 425
Alk 8.5 - 8.8
Mg 1300 - 1350
Ph 7.8 - 8.0 want it to be around 8.3.
Going to make a diy C02 scrubber to ty and bring it up. Did the cap of water outside. It went from 7.81 to 8.19 in an hour.
Hi! Please, explain to me what you mean when you say: "Did the cap of water outside" I am asking this because I need to bring up my pH too!

Sorry, I meant a cup of water. It is a way to check to see if it's CO2 that is causing my ph to be low.
Take a cup of tank water, measure the ph. Then put cup of water outside with an air pump with airstone for an hour, then measure the ph again. If it goes up, it means the lower ph is from too much CO2 in the house.

Should have highlighted current in my post. A current tank picture would be greatly useful to see if people's tanks are something you want to emulate.

Now I understood...lol! That's a great test! I didn't know about that! I will try! Thanks!

I might try that too, yeah, but it seems a good idea to do the test in the house first, just to see if the extra aeration from the airstone is what’s raising the Ph, or is it really just the air used -outside vs. inside -scientific method and all :p

I like to keep an eye on all 3.

Alk 8-9 (usually have to dose 1-2 times a week to give it a .5 bump at a time).
Cal - 430 (usually does once a week or once every other week or so).
Mag - 1350 (usually dose once a week as it seems to drop a fair bit).

I’m really not interested in anyone’s numbers without photos to show what they’ve got going on I think
