Can't wait for Wednesday
Sorry with a sick little one the photos had to wait.
no worries, happens to the best of us. hope the kid feels better soon.
Here's pics of some of the lesser ones.
This is a large colony that when it arrived had shed half of its skin. It's still alive and the STN appears to have stopped, but I'm not sure I'll send this one out. Or if I do I'll just credit whomever gets it as this one is up in the air.
Here is another boring one, when it arrived I could see the underside that hasn't gotten light has bleached and or shed some skin, but it is still alive.
This one you can see also arrived with some skin shed, but it has very nice polyp extension. Not sure if I'll send this one yet or not.
Here is a boring brown one with some PE.
This one arrived with some bleaching but is otherwise healthy.
Here's another that had partial STN when it arrived, but has polyps and skin. Doubt I'll send it out though.
This one has bleaching and skin tissue loss on the underside where it doesn't get light, but the top is colored and has polyps so that's a good sign.
This one arrived with a dead branch or two and underside looks bad where there is no light, but the top side looks good with polyps and color.
The ones that are questionable that have partially shed skin I will probably not send. It's totalling around 3 large and 2-3 medium/small.
Well here we are 1 week later and the first orders are shipping out. East coast, central, and west coast today. All over the country! As I'm going through and grabbing the corals my computer randomly assigned to you, I am giving them one last check before sending. If I see any signs that the coral is looking unhealthy in some way, it I'll contact you via PM to let you know, and special exception will be made for those coral granting a much longer DOA policy than the 24 hours.
My policy at Boom Corals is that I lose money on a dead coral and not my customers. With shipping live coral, I accept the risk from my end as much as possible within reason. I have had customers who have had coral die and I always credit, replace, refund, or whatever is necessary. These brown coral will be no exception, besides the shorter 24 hour guarantee policy as was described from the start. At the end of the day, if you're unhappy for some reason, contact me via email or PM and I WILL respond.
Don't forget to CHECK YOUR INVOICE for your special 5% off a future order coupon code, as my special thank you for taking this venture with me!
Tomorrow I will start a "brown coral progress" thread in the SPS forum for anyone either involved here or who has gotten "brownies" from anyplace and wants to share their story.
Looking forward to reports and pics from those receiving tomorrow!
Looking forward to getting my box next week and seeing all the updates from everyone else!!!
Just got my shipment in, these are some fine looking brownies! super pumped with my box. pics will come soon!
I received my box about 2 hours ago and it was packed very well. The corals are of course brown but there are a good number that look like they've got some great potential. I had ordered all large and that they were. I definitely made some accidental frags removing them from their bases as they were really chunky. I'll try to get some pictures up within the next day or two, but I'm definitely happy with everything so far. It's what I was expecting and even a bit more. We'll see how things are in a week or a month, but that'll be on me.
Created the "brown acro story/progress" thread
interested to see some pictures too and definitely wanna get in next time
I get mine today can't wait...
I see your box is waiting for you.
Me too I'm on my way in a few
Just put some pics up in the other thread!!
Something to keep in mind, check your alkalinity before you take the coral out of your bags. Mine is around 8 dkh and if it's too big an alk swing you should try to do an acclimation for about 20-30 minutes.
c'mon everyone, post up some pics of your brownies!!!!
I'm assuming these are sold out?
Yes for now. I will do it again as soon as my wholesaler has more to sell.
