Are you feeding your lobo after lights out? About an hour after lights out, it would love small bits of clam. If its not been fed, it may have given up, so just set some on it. Shrimp or other nighttime CUC may try to steal food from it. After a couple of nights in row same time, it will realize FOOD and pull food into its mouth. Once it starts eating, then feed 2-3x weekly. Our lobo is now doing great

I had this happen with my lobo - had a pep shrimp stealing from it on the regular, I started keeping it under a strawberry basket overnight and it worked well. It was my first coral and I had it for three years and it grew multiple new lobes/polyps, then I made the horrible mistake of putting it too close to my galaxea coral - one night is all it took. It started de-fleshing the next day. Two lobes held on for a while and I thought it might rebound but nope it totally gave up the ghost - very sad day they are beautiful creatures when they are thriving. Good luck.

Squirt some watery food near the trachy and wait a few minutes before you put the food on its flesh, chumming the water a few minutes before like that will activate its feeding response and it will be ready to ingest the food when you place on its flesh....it may take a few nights of this routine before it makes the connection (think Pavlov's dog) buy it will eventually condition the trachy's feeding response and it will be waiting for its food. You can use the water from thawed frozen food, aminos, whatever but the smellier the better...don't do this every night or you'll have nutrient issues. I feed my trachy a couple nights a week.

if the tentacles are out and food gets into middle, mine closes up on food to eat. We just had daylight savings time change but trachy hasn't yet gotten hint... I had to stay up extra late waiting for tentacle phase.

dang Acans! I can grow sps lps softies so far most things I try. In my main tank every time I put an acan it seems to not grow or do much. If I move them to my frag tank they get very puffy and look great. Can’t understand why lol.

This is interesting, most everyone struggles with some type of coral it seems, but it completely varies which. Personally, zoanthids or acans are a no-go for me. Drives me crazy, almost everything else does well!

Easiest for me I would say would be acans, zoas, mainly all LPS.
Hardest for me I would say would be Yuma’s. Every one melted on me. Everything else mainly is on point.

I would say just all around good reef keeping. I can’t give you exact details about parameters, I honestly don’t check them at all.

I try to keep my phosphate between 0 and 0.1ppm and my nitrate just under 1,0 ppm. I’ve had very low phosphate and nitrate for a while but I managed to higher it. My Alkalinity was at 5,7 a while ago but i used aquaforest KH BUFFER and now it’s around 8,5 - 9 dkh

Last time I had checked phosphate it was like .24 and that was over 6 months ago. Haven’t since then and have never once checked nitrates. Idk what alk is at either. I would say high 8-9? I couldn’t even tell ya

Easiest, GSP and, I know they aren't coral, but for some reason bubble tips. Hardest Acropora. It always seems to get overgrown, even by coralline algae.

Strangely enough the green stars have been fairly challenging, they just grow too quickly and twist around a bit. I've found the easiest to be the Yuma mushroom, that thing is a champ.

I think it has so much to do with the health of the coral when you get it. I have had lots of success with healthy Euphyllia but even some of the easier corals have died when I got them in an unhealthy state.

HARDEST: mushrooms, strawberry shortcake, zoas, and I can't keep a chalice alive to save my life.

Paly grandis were the first thing I bought for my new tank after 15 years out of the hobby. I had never seen them before. So hardy, thriving at the bottom of my tank, absolutely no issues with them and they grow and spread pretty quickly with little effort. Win-win!

Hardest i would say are sponges. They die eventually no matter what
