Looks like I only lost about $300-400 in corals this time from Dinos. That's a pretty significant win.

On the downside.. The person I left my corals with is killing them, and I need to get them immediately.

I have not a single human being with a stable tank I can rely on. It's like being homeless.

Things stopped dying in my friends tank. It was only 2, but overnight 2 = panic! lol.

So yeah, lots of ups and downs in a short time. Rollercoaster ride without leaving the house

Got a new piece of equipment. It's supposed to be a tank mate reminder, but I think I'll use it to remind me when corals die.

I don't usually just have things just die, so it needs to be memorialized when it happens. It'll be my CoralMemorial !

It also has a crazy lightshow but by the time I got the camera out it was over. Just needs the fog machine adapter and it's ready to party.

I keep a mass grave burial pile of mine as well. Cheers

It's the TankMate reminder, made by @WallyB

Actually you could use one!! It flashes disco light effects whenever you neglect to do something lol. The kids might enjoy the rave when you forget to water change though

Hahah... I'd love to see this new piece of equipment. Can u share when u have time?

It actually can do a whole bunch of stuff, I believe he was saying it could be upgraded with an arduino or raspbery pi to be a complete controller/doser/ATO/etc etc.

Here's a short demo of it doing a couple things, this has been a 6 month long project actually!

This is Rakie's thread, but when you finished Oggling at all his Frag Collection, you can check out the Tank Mate Build thread here. (All the Plans are there to build your own)
https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/d...wer-or-raise-your-nutrients-n-p.497508/page-3
The thread is not complete, till Rakie and team finished testing it for bugs.
Then I'll be making a few dozen to give away on R2R. :)
LOL. It took 6 months, and long nights, to make 4 (mostly programming).
Rakie and 3 other design team members kept coming up with more features they wanted.
I didn't even make myself one yet. :(
Maybe someday...Actually... Probably never. Since I got other DIY Projects brewing. (newest is Auto Frag Tank in my thread)

So to quote someone ---

"Rakie,
It's cool that your thread got picked. Last time is was 365 and this time a Featured Thread.

I find it a bit odd on the Timing. When they picked you for 365 it was just as you were posting about your Bubble outbreak.

Now this time, you tore down for the Dino's.

Don't they check what's going on. Or was this on purpose?"

What a coincidence @mdbannister :D

You still running the Melafix dip treatment mate? I'm looking at getting a dipping regime going for when I start adding things to the tank again and Melafix is going to be sooooo much easier than Bayer to get here in Aus!

(love the tankmate idea too haha)

Melafix is all I use, nothing compares. Just have to use the proper amount and mind the clock, set an alarm and don't let it sit too long.

Melafix is weird, it's super safe and gentle for 5-6 minutes, but after 10-15 minutes all corals are dead.

Set an alarm, make it your only priority in life for the next 6 minutes! Lol
