A clean skimmer neck helps keep skimmers operating efficiently.
Venturi clog easily & if a hot water cleanse is not sufficient a drill bit the correct size twisted in by hand will.

Always ideal to get in a routine and clean it when doing a water change so you don’t forget. Skimmers do a great job, but only if they are cleaned to function optimally, and with the right pump and setting.

I give the skimmer a thorough cleaning every 2-3 months. I tried going sockless but the skimmer got dirty so fast I had to clean it more often.
