Thanks. Of course it happens the day before I am supposed to receive my anemone that was going in that tank. Should be interesting trying to make that guy happy.

I have had two 55 Litre cubes let go on me, I don't want to even imagine my big tank leaking.

New arrivals have made it and I spent most of the morning acclimating them to their new tanks, where they will be for the next few weeks.

The clownfish weren’t very interested in the Coral Beaty when he was in the bag floating in their tank. They are a little agitated by thenew arrival but are keeping their distance. He is about 2-3 times the size of the clowns right now.The coral beauty ate some pellets and mysis shrimp. Didn’t show a ton of interest in the spirulina brine shrimp but ate some of that too.

Anemone looked pretty good in the bag. Once they were acclimated, I placed it on a rock in my temporary setup. Adjusted some flow so that it had some indirect flopping and we shall see where it moves today. Fed it some mysis shrimp and added some of the snails and crabs I got today too.

Bright spot to end the horrible night. Now to give them a little time to settle in.

Seems like the coral beauty is doing great with the clowns this far. Been swimming around, eating all the old food and even trying to clean the glass and the pvc. He kind of stole the clowns sleeping spot inside the pipe but the clowns have adjusted to sleeping tail up to the surface next to the heater in one corner and across the back in the other corner.

The anemone didn’t like the spot that it started in and has now worked its way into the rock with half of its tentacles on one side and half on the other side. Hopefully it eventually comes out of there. Unfortunately there is an emerald crab living due north in a cave. Haven’t seen the two interact yet.

After about a week in the tub, the anemone is still settling in. I think some of the inverts have been getting a little too close and it has shrunk down a couple times to get away from them. It's amazing how small it is able to shrink down to when it expels the water from the bubble tips and creeps through the rocks. Seems to be doing pretty well at the moment, as it was pushed out more from one side of the rock, it is really stretched out through that opening in the rock though.

Just left for vacation and a little worried but I think I set myself up for success. Completed a water change on my quarantine tank two days ago and added a little extra top off water for the next couple of days. Set up a camera to take some video to make sure that the fish are still swimming around. Have an Eheim autofeeder set to feed just once a day, just in case some freak ammonia spike would occur (filter in tank had been cycled). Everyone seems to be doing ok right now, a few hours after I left.

Back from vacation and the tank was filthy. Huge amount of algae all over the glass and PVC. Could have been from the autofeeder giving more food than normal.

Did a 50% water change and copper redose in order to get everything cleaned up a little.

Everyone seems to be doing fine in the QT and the anemone seems to be settling into the other tote. Still trying to hone in on a new display setup that I can get.

Coming up on 4 weeks in QT for the two black ice clownfish and coral beauty. I recently did a treatment of Prazipro and will do the 2nd treatment coming up on Wednesday, which will mark 5 weeks in QT.

Green speckled/acid washed bubble tip anemone also doing well in the top with the live rock. Amazing to watch it eat a little cube of frozen mysis every week. Completely brings the cube to the mouth and you can see the purple underside of the anemone as it closes around the food.

All 4 seem to be doing great. No signs of any external parasites on the fish and are all acting great.

Permanent tank news:
After the breakdown of the other tank, the new tank will need to be placed in the basement, therefore it needs to be a little smaller. I will be going with the same footprint of the last tank, 36” wide and 18” deep, but shorter.

The 40G Breeder.

Next steps:

Deciding what to do with the aquascape. Should I reuse the rocks I had before or go with something new. Current thoughts are to go with some new but also seed with something old. I am thinking it is going to be a little tough to get the anemone off of its current rock. I will set up an aqua scrape with mostly new rock and have the anemone rock in the scale until it moves and the other rock becomes slightly established.

Finish the fish QT. As I build the aquascape I will continue to keep the fish in QT and for a little bit after the new tank gets water. First to move will probably be the anemone.

Deciding the next fish for QT or if it will be coral.

That was a few days ago. Lastest from tonight. I have begun to shape the second island as well. Still trying to acquire the mortar to make it more secure.

Next structure done as well. Couple of joints to reinforce before adding sand to the tank.

Here are the structures in the tank next to each other. They do appear smaller in pictures than in person, but I feel it leaves a lot of room for growth once I get corals as well as open room for swimming. Also gives room to clean glass easily, seed tank with a couple old rocks that will be removeable.
