The MOST BEAUTIFUL coral you've ever seen? Does it have to be rainbow?

Do the amount of colors a coral has play a big factor when you consider it's beauty?

Happy Monday and let's kick off the reefing week by talking about the MOST BEAUTIFUL corals we have ever seen along with a question about colors. I don't want to hear about ones you've seen on R2R or seen on a vendor website but those you've seen in person! No matter what type of coral it is, SPS, LPS, Soft, whatever it is tell us about it and why it's beautiful to you.

SHARE A PHOTO IF YOU HAVE ONE

1. What is the most beautiful coral (get specific) you have ever seen in person and why do you say that?

2. Do the amount of colors a coral has play a big factor when you consider it's beauty? If not then what is it?

Generally I think it’s in the eye of the beholder, what floats ones boat may not float another, you get zoa lovers, sps, lps and soft corals not all tanks have to look like they have been poured out of a box of lucky charms, I think the most amazing tanks are those that look like a natural landscape I do love a beautiful trachy or Wilsoni but on the other hand even the sway and pulse of a Xenia can look mesmerising !

I really like corals with multiple, well defined colors. I think if you had a full tank of them though it would be too much.

My favorite is the Ludicrous Chalice, because of the colors, but also how it looks like drops of color instead of streaks like most rainbow chalices. I am hoping one day that my little nugget gets all those colors.

I would say the amount of colors for me personally doesn't matter as much as the way the colors contrast on the coral and with your lights.

For me this torch was the most beautiful coral I had ever seen...and I finally got it. This is it sitting in my Nuvo 20 at the moment.

I am insane to acropora corals. Specialy the rare acro. They are slow growing and hard to keep. Also the prices are killing me
Iam also very happy when I bring home some browny, not nice acro and in one month is changing color... then I know everything is going the right way.

While i've never seen it in person, Battle Corals Fairy Food Millepora is absolutely gorgeous. I would have loved to have a piece

I saw this in person at Adam’s house a few years ago. It’s OK, but not that special. Adam basically thinks the same of it and it’s more of a joke to him than anything else. He has many, many nicer corals.
