My favorite is RFA and MCA because of size and less movement. The only reason I would consider any other nem would be for hosting Clown fish however my clown fish decided to host my torch coral. I know they love it because they bite anything that comes near it including me lol

1. What's your favorite type of anemone and why?
I think all anemones are beautiful. Except aiptasia. I guess they would be fine in their own system and you can throw in a copperband with them. But that's a different story and subject.

2. How many anemones do you currently have?

I had a wild green bta. At least I am sure it was wild. It died a slow painful death over months and months of consuming itself to nothing.
I recently got an RBTA and it's doing very well. It's acclimating very well and isn't running all over the place, yet.

RFAs for me. I have two currently and what I think are babies, although that is still under debate on another thread. I hope to get some more vibrant colored ones soon.

Love my Magnifica but it online form a dealer that sells there clones. Tried wild ones never held up for me. But this tank raised Magnifica gone thru water swings and still kicking. Also my 4 clown fish love it to death.

I picked other because I can't pick just one. I have a separate 100G anemone tank plumbed into my main system full of bubbletips with one long tentacle that my clowns love hosting in which looks really cool. I've tried carpets of varying sizes and colours but these don't seem to thrive like the others do. I'd love one/some in my display but I'm worried about them travelling and killing my sps or even smaller fish. Funny story, when i started in the hobby I was suckered into buying a large blue carpet which did surprisingly well in my display but eventually had to go because of his size.

Current picture of the nem tank below with probably 25 bubbletips, 1 long tentacle, countless aiptasia and a large carpet of GSP. For fish I have 6 clowns from a clutch of 14 originally, 1 yellow tang and 1 bristletooth.

I have over 1000. While not the hardest to keep, I believe the most sophisticated species is the bubble tip, I also think we have an opportunity to learn a lot from the species.

I wrote other. It's an Aggregate Anemone. Colonies occur in Puget Sound and it rode home to my QT on some rocks and ulva I collected. After a year, 1 showed up in my display tank how I don't know and it has acclimated from 54 degree water to 79 degrees! It's also now several colonies. What doesn't show in the pix is that in blue light it floresces green with pink tips. Each is 1/2 inch in diam. yes they wander but can then be scraped off of glass. No it's not aiptasia. If you look in the second picture on the middle bottom there is an aiptasia which has escaped my peppermint shrimp by hitching a ride on an astera snail. The first picture is under blue light trying to show the florescence but it's a Samsung phone fail! The glass is all spotted as I took the picture through the back of my tank as that where they're accumalating.

I love my RBTA. I have about 5 of them. 2 green bubble tips. 1 rainbow and 5 rock flowers which are pretty cool looking. I would get a carpet anemone but worried about them eating my fish.

Some more BTA & Tube love. Although some days my BTA looks like a long tentacle version
