I made the tank look pretty for the photo but this is what it usually looks like…this is the reality because the sponges need high flow haha. I am going to dial back on silicate dosing because diatoms have appeared and these are just my observation/thoughts so far…I know tree sponges are more difficult to keep and if they die on me or look like they are I’m pulling them and I’m not replacing them as tempting as it is. I will say that the yellow ball sponge and elephant ear are doing well so like corals I believe some are easier to keep/seem to do better than others from my observations over the past few weeks. Last night I saw the lobster again he really is only out late at night…I mean they are nocturnal and naturally shy so if you want something constantly out in the open a purple reef lobster is not for you. And I why I built my rockwork with that in mind…I learned even though I can see him and know where his little spot is no one else can that looks at my tank.
I guess only a mother knows!:rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

I’d also like to note that I’m carefully monitoring my blue sponge as I’ve heard horror stories of them nuking tanks if they die. And I really want to add some NPS gorgonians as well…but so far my lfs and favorite sellers only have photosynthetic ones in stock so I have to wait on that.

Aiptasia has entered the chat…but I’m ready with Frank’s F-Aiptasia! Courtesy of @Bulk Reef Supply and Leonardo Da Pinchi says hi! And that he’s enjoying his garden of overrun macroalgae but is unhappy that I woke him up earlier today by turning on the lights.
