I think that the quietness is highly dependent on your sump and how well it does with keeping vibrations. My skimmer does make some noise but not too bad. A little louder than the Reef Octopus 110 I had previously but this is also a stronger pump in this skimmer.

I have an RSK-300 on its way to me this week. Now, I'm concerned about some of the noise complaints from people over on the FB Red Sea forum. Some videos are pretty quiet and some are pretty noisy. I'm debating just sending it straight back to the dealer without even opening because they'll give me my money back. Does anyone know if Red Sea have any kind of money-back guarantee if I want to try it?

It’s not terribly bad. Once I close the cabinet doors I can’t hear it. So far great skimmer for the price.

That sounds pretty quiet to me. Do you have your air line hooked to a co2 scrubber
Yes I do... this pump is defiantly pulling more air thru the c02 scrubber vs. my old simplicity skimmer also.. My PH avg. shot up the day after I switched the skimmers... I had to increase my ALK and Cal dosing to compensate for daily consumption..

I have zero noise complaints.. The Vectra return pump is louder than the skimmer and its not loud by any means IMO

I had to raise the 300 model in a red sea reefer 525's sump... IMO it works best at 7inchs of depth.. It naturally sets about 10.5inches.... The red sea website claims you don't need it but I found it is a 100% must

Have any of you that have switched from another brand of skimmer have any thoughts on the build quality of these?

The Red Sea site says if you have the V1 sump on the 525 you may have to raise it. Is your sump V1 or V3?

My LFS in Florida was able to order the RSK-300 a week ago as his local distributor had received their shipment from RS already. I would double check the websites for the larger online merchants.

I doubt the Reefdose arrives in March. This is what an employee from Red Sea on the owners FB page:
Early 2019 looks unlikely for the doser as we have so much else to launch first. Skimmers are on their way and will start arriving end of Dec/Jan, then early in 2019 we are expecting the ReefLED and ReefWAVE to appear. Busy Busy and we are more focussed on getting everything right than rushing it out.

The noise issues with the RSK-300 seem be pouring in on the Red Sea Owner's page, and they're getting deleted (either by the Admins or by the user themselves). I'm hoping to find another place (here or elsewhere) where people are sharing their thoughts without threat of removal. Any ideas?

I'm following that thread. Very interested in the sound from the skimmer. Thank you for posting!

I would also watch the Reefer series tank owners thread for Red Sea Products since many of the posters there are Red Sea fans.
