So far so good. One of the domino was little angled (my mistake) , but I was able to clamp it out :)

Testing with a piece of expanded pvc sheet. The final pvc sheet will be little bigger than this one. I think it will be sufficient to hold all existing and 3 more gizmos. Back side of the expanded pvc sheet I can build shelves if needed, to organize the wall warts. Similar to the front door, this can be done later on the existing structure. I need some more time using it to get a better understanding of the intricacies.

two coats of primer and two coats of milk paint (white matte).

. while the door glue up dried , i applies a top coat with min wax paste wax. The. I attached the golden legs for the console. At this point , it looks respectable and moved on to fabricate the expanded foam sheet based housing panel for the power strips and vortech controllers.

Here is how the inside looks, with expanded pvc based panel ,

I have made this small indentation with a trim router (copied from another expensive furniture we have ) , for ease of opening . I’m pretty stoked about it :)

it’s late evening here, hence the deep blue. Most corals are doing fine. Green slimer , another no name acro and various montinpora (forest fire , orange branching monti , rainbow etc) are showing some slow growth.
I lost one of the battle corals frag early one . I suspect it’s due to the close proximity of the stylo, I think it’s polyp have stung the other acro. I was also little lazy to not not respond quickly and address it (moving and cutting off the dead part ) promptly .
Anyhow , rest is doing good. I have to now move the frags to their final locations

Last week I glued up all the frags. So far so good.
2751CAD2-917B-47B5-B961-E0411BB1176A.jpeg

I prefer to glue them side ways, that way more light for the coral and probably more chances for growth than just continuing the upward trend from a single frag

on the sad side , one of my anthias jumped out and carpet surfed. I’m down to 4 anthias now. I’m thinking if I should get the cover , but still reluctant . I’m pretty sure the anthias jumped due to power outage and the sudden light on that follow suit. This is a bad thing with the kessil a9x model. Everything it restarts there’s a brief period where it runs at full brightness before the schedule kicks in , after few seconds.
anyway.. we’ll see how thing unfolds, if there’s anymore casualty i will seriously consider getting a lid

$50 fish.. DIY RedSea kit $70.. dont like the look after you spend a day putting it together.. priceless. All joking aside, worst case is you dont use it and it goes in the garage with all the "other" stuff we dont use.
you are right. im just being complacent . Ordered right now, thank you for this

That definitely looks like a coco worm to me. Did you by chance get this from Violet Aquarium? I ask because I recently picked one up down there.

corals are doing ok. More algae growth as well, all new live stock are fine.
i spent some time during the weekend doing thorough glass cleaning. And paid attention to individual coral growth .
Old corals are all bouncing back I think, while new ones are settling in. Tank is still a long way to go for maturation , algae and sps growth rate /color generally a good indicator . Nothing is dying now, and I have to slowly improve water chemistry & micro biome .
I tbought I’ll loose this elegance, after the glue job . It didn’t like the place, lots of flesh came out with brown gunk and a gaping mouth for weeks. But I think it looks better now. I have a feeling the new live stock and water quality control measure might have helped. It’s still not in best shape, but bit better than two weeks back

micro Goni. Nothing to expect here, I know it is thriving, but it has no place to grow , and that’s by design. I’m curious if it will grow on glass bottom . I know the grandis will do

New pair of cleaner shrimp. I had one for long time that I lost (bad transfer practice) , this time I got a pair, and boy , they are always together. Love them

Coco worm. I’m bit concerned that it does not get enough food. I’m doing brine shrimp , reef roid , pe Calanus now, will get phyto soon . Finger crossed

the new sps from battle corals, all are doing ok. None of them are thriving or bursting in color . But they do show visible growth (or at least the ones that I can check closely ) . They all browned the out, but I expect that. I was worried that the dry rock will not work.

I’m getting second thoughts about the stylo. If it grows too fast , I’ll have to relocate it. It’s in prime spot , but in opposite slope . Will see I have time

Older sps
Chilli pepper monti . No visible color difference , I know . Will wait for the good days :) . I know she is pretty. I have to worry about the orange and rainbow monti that will outgrow it.
C3B02721-7C70-4E6A-89DA-D2893921146E.jpeg

Talking about rainbow monti , it’s the current fastest grower. It has taken up a lot of real estate. I like it through :)
784A978C-5416-46EE-9117-112C155A564C.jpeg

And green slimer. This one is also steadily growing

my biota yellow tang . She was pricy and I might have to upgrade tank in a year or two, but it’s a long time dream. #noregrets

Controls are all remained same . Tank is on 5.0. Doing alternate day alk testing. It’s hovering around 8.8/8.9. No explicit dosing. I was using my nano practice of adding sodium bicarbonate in ato water , but recently switched to tropic marine all in one. I do 1-2g water change whenever I get time. Generally once a week. I intend to increase or decrease the frequency or volume based on experience /observation. More on that later ..

Tank is humming along . Corals are doing mostly ok. I think I’m loosing one of the acro ( ) frag slowly. Other than that rest all look normal , growing .
GHA has grown most :) . I think phyto dosing compounded the gha spike . I’m not too worried about it. Will tackle it by manual removal for the time being , till I dial down the nutrient export and feeding regime .

I figured out why I was having cyano bloom, it was due to the death of urchin. After few gallons of water change and some manual cleaning , the cyano is now under check, or at least not visible .

tank is doing ok. Im getting usual GHA , other than that no issue.

during the cyano outbreak I built a little jig with a small water pump attached to my picker , for cleaning up rock crevices. This has been handy ,
64AE60BE-E964-408B-B9C1-95118B996EC4.jpeg

I’m thinking of making some 3D printed attachment for the pump, to make it ac more like a leaf blower, with extended reach . I was also thinking, may be instead of blowing I should suck out those cyano or debris or algaes , but that will involve canister filter or some thing of that sort to filter the water before returning it to main water column. We’ll see.

Not to bother your build thread.. ( and by the way it looks awesome!) Could you share your prometheus.yml file... I am a hack at best and have it up and running and can play with "data that it points too" but for the life of me I cant figure out how to connect it to ".../x/metrics".. we can take it over to the Reef-pi forum as well.

Sorry to hi-jink.
