Thanks for sharing Mike! Our pictures of Waterbox lids are currently limited since they are largely a new addition. It looks great and we are happy to hear that it fits perfectly!

My new lid for my JBJ 45 AIO that also covers the rear ‘sump’ section. I’ve got everything hidden back there (and it’s a lot!) under the lid for the clean profile I was looking for. Thanks again!

Thanks, I love it. I had originally bought the Red Sea DIY lid kit for about $50, but it couldn’t do what I wanted and kind of cheapened the overall look to me a bit so I wanted something that looked like it was made specifically for the tank. It was about $140 for the base lid for the JBJ 45, then you pay a little more for each custom cutout you add. I got two ‘feed doors’ (the one in the back is for easy access to my skimmer), and 4 cords slots, bringing the total to right around $200 including the shipping. Not the cheapest lid by any means, but possibly the sexiest for this tank ;)

ReefyB, thanks for sharing!! Was indeed a 'unique' configuration setup and turned out great!

Bob, the lid frame is 3/8" thick and the tabs that sit on the glass edge are 1/8" thick. 1/4" of the frame 'floats' below the glass edge.

I am looking at purchasing a lid for my 2018 Waterbox 100.3, and I am hoping that you may be able to offer me information about anything that I may be overlooking or anything that you recommend.

I took the dimensions of my aquarium last night, which are as follows:
IMG_2328.jpg

Outer Dimensions
  • A: 23 5/8"
  • B: 35 1/2"
  • C: 23 5/8"
  • D: 35 1/2"
Inner Dimensions
  • E: 22 3/4"
  • F: 12 1/8"
  • G: 4"
  • H: 10 1/4"
  • I: 4"
  • J: 12 1/8"
  • K: 22 3/4"
  • L: 34 1/2"
Add-ons
  • (1) Regular feed door at the front-center (L,D in the photo above)
I would like to be able to attach my Neptune AFS (automatic feeder), centered at the left-rear (F in the photo above). Would I need to have another small custom cutout for this? If possible, I want to eliminate any space for fish to jump out between the lid and the feeder, so I would like to have the feeder drop food through the screen, which would allow for a smaller custom cutout to accommodate the automatic feeder.

Also, I need cutouts for EcoTech RMS units at left- and right-center (A,E & K,C in the photo above). I will be using the spacers that come with the RMS units, but I don't have them yet; I had to order replacement spacers from EcoTech. Will the small custom cutouts be sufficient for the RMS units with spacers installed?

Hi @nickkohrn we are happy to help! First off, thanks for the well-done diagram. It's nice to have this posted up here as I'm sure it will help others.

That lid starts at $141.26 for our Tsunami lid style and $176.58 for our Classic lid style. Here's a link for ordering on the site: https://www.clearviewlids.com/colle...ds/products/platinum-reef-100-3-clearview-lid

We will ask that you include your diagram and the noted internal dimensions along with your order. The easiest way to do this as you can't currently include attachments in the ordering process is to send this information via email in reply to the order confirmation email you receive after placing your order. This will help us keep this information properly organized with the appropriate order in our system.

Your AFS and RMS cutouts will all fall into the Small Custom Cutout category so you should add 3 small custom cutouts to your order before checkout. For your AFS, we customarily use a 3.25x1.75 cutout for the feeder. If you would like it smaller to only encompass the clamp and allow food to eject through the mesh, we will need to get some additional measurements from you prior to programming, but we can work through that via email.

You can email us at [email protected] with any other questions you may have. Thanks for choosing ClearView!!

That's pretty clean! I didn't even think to include dimensions to cover the rear sump. It definitely makes for a lot cleaner look! Never crossed my mind. Does the part that covers the rear sump flip up or do you need to remove the entire lid to access your equipment? I'm legit considering ordering a new lid after seeing yours.

Thanks, yeah the center section over the sump area flips off so I can easily access/remove/clean my skimmer cup or manually dose something with the lid still on. When I need to access the others sections I just slide the whole lid off to one side or remove it. You can add more of the “doors” over different sections of the sump based on your setup. I’ve noticed since having it that my evaporation has gone waaay down, I used to go through a 5g ATO reservoir in about 7-8 days, now it’s at least 2 1/2 weeks.

Did you get a lid?
I have a waterbox 100.3 as well and have had a few fish lost to jumping out when scared.
Does condensation build up on clear plastic?
Does it detract from the look of the tank a lot?
Thanks

I did not get a lid yet. I’ve been using a light diffusing panel (egg crate) for now. I am still planning on getting a lid, though. We have been saving for an upcoming vacation next month, so that’s taken most of my funds.
